Multiplayer Ban by Codemasters

Recommended Posts

I was wondering. Couldn't see a clear topic about this.
I've recently been watching video's like this one:

Also Myself and probably a lot of other online players have encountered people who are just driving to crash or ruin the fun for someone else. Is there a way to get people banned in Multiplayer?

There is a 10000 times bigger chance that those video creators will get banned from the forums compared to there being an actual ban system. There are no rules in the game, so everyone can do what they want. Only thing what is checked, is the game files.

I highly doubt, that Rhytms, or other YouTube creator, like he doesn't even have registered account in these forums. But anyways, I find it somewhat offending, that Codemasters haven't implemented any system to get rid of those kind of players. They indeed are there only for destroy other players fun.

I repeat once again. There are no rules how to play the game. The multiplayer experience is meant to be experienced how the player wants to experience it (Sadly experiencing it without issues is not an option)

I know. And that's why I find it offending. Some just want to have few good quick online sessions with clean racing (which is impossible on public) and then there's these players, who only are there to crap on others fun. Then again, there's no online game, that wouldn't have that kind of players. Some games though, either bans them, or makes them play against each other.

Well finding quick online sessions with clean racing doesn't even happen in iRacing. Either they are not quick sessions, or they are full of rookies. Also how is it offending?

Well I guess we'll have to see how well the new ''super license'' concept is going to work in F1 2018's multiplayer. I think it's designed to separate the intentional rammers from the fair/clean drivers. They haven't talked about it much yet, but I'm curious how (or, if) that will work. It's good to see that they're at least trying something new.

You really just asked that? It is offending, because, like I said, there's drivers, who just want to have some fun in quick public lobby races, but on nearly every lobby there's people, like you see on that vid (of course, Rhytms seems to have some fun, while dodging those idiots) and Codemasters haven't done anything to get rid of them. Yes, yes, yes, you already said, that there's no rules on how to play the game AND THAT'S offending, not for only those, who want to have clean race, but also for those, who try the online part of the game, but haven't heard about the public side being total wreckfest. This is F1 game, not Wreckfest.

On real life, the rammer would of been already banned from the racing, probably all-together. So why shouldn't them be banned from F1 online game?  I for once would like to test my skills online on public lobbies just to see where I am going (since I know, that I am not that good to take part in league racing), but with these kind of idiots, I don't even watch on that side of the game. And that's why I have been quite stubborn, when protecting the game on numerous and again, redundant whine threads about same issues, that's been made every year again and again, when they could use the search function to see, if the issue already has whining thread. (AND USE THAT THREAD INSTEAD) on yearly basis.
Yes, I know, that online side has had some major, even game breaking bugs and glitches, but this here, is the reason why I don't even consider trying that side out! It is offending, and that's only my opinion. You can disagree all you want, btw.

Now let's calm down a bit here. You're going to the gray zone of the rules by claiming that people are idiots and then naming & shaming them by referring to that video. Actually I think you went over the limit as you're calling people idiots multiple times.

You can't really use a real life as a point. In real life things tend to cost more than in a game... Things also hurt more in real life than in a game. rFactor has no system for rammers to my knowledge and I still have yet to see major complaints about it. Same for AC at least last time I played it years ago.

Anyways it's strange how you now complain that Codies' haven't done anything to rammers as they are introducing a safety ranking feature for the next game.

I'll keep repeating this. The game doesn't have any rules agaisnt ramming except for the penalties option. This is very unlikely to ever change. GRID Autosport still has a pinned thread where you can look for respectable drivers. The developers never banned anyone for ramming though to my knowledge. Only for cheats.

I have a great fear that this will cause more problems then it solves because of how penalties are handed out on these games,I use no assists and am forever getting the penalty when one of these clowns decides to ram me,simply because they have assists and I do not,so can’t wait to get a poor safety rating through no fault of my own!

Sadly I’m pretty sure nothing will ever be done about this that’s even if something could be done simply because if codies started banning everyone that rammed people off that’s a very large amount of money they’d lose coz these clowns would just stop buying the game and just take their ramming elsewhere.

Not strictly true.  Xbox Live (and presumably Steam and PSN) have a code of conduct that includes "unsporting behaviour", and you're quite entitled to report anyone who's in breach of that by deliberately spoiling the game for others. People do get suspended or banned for it, albeit not very often.

Well I don't think F1 games output video footage for those reports, so they seem to basically be words against other people's words. Also Steam's report system does not include any kind of unsportsmanlike behavior, only stuff like "Suspected cheater", "Harassment", "Impersonating another user" and so on as it's not Steam's issue if someone rams someone in an online game.

If I'm not mistaken the game uses steamworks for multiplayer?

If so, developers should be able to hand out game bans. Not totally sure tho.

Currently Steam handles Steam bans, MS handles XBL bans, Sony handles PSN bans. Not hard to understand, each network controls banning of people on their network.

Despite their reputation Codies do whatever they can to prevent cheating, but they can't prevent 8-16 year olds smashing you out of a race in public lobbies.

Let's call them chaps then, but even you can't deny, that they are just what I called them. But then again, it was you who didn't get the point I was making in the first place about Codies not doing anything to them being offending. You see, I already told you why I find it being offending, but you still didn't get the message.
