F1 2018 sounds

Hello @issueskid, any news about a fix for the classical cars issue sound ? So sad To listen to the broken F2004 sound :neutral:

This one is out of my hands at the moment, it's the traction control triggering on upshifts, the audio issues are a by product of that.

Just putting it out there, but I`m almost sure that you are aware of this glitch.

When you spectate other Vehicles in Multiplayer , the Cars sound like they are constantly revving full tilt.

I havent tried to see if it also does this on Offline Mode.

We have had several different players in our League get the same Sound Problem when spectating others.

I understand to change they don't want any ! Poke the nose of these crooked developers in this video ! The sound is shit!!!!!!! One does not understand , it's so hard to change ?????????

Oh , and then the other Sound issue , is that in Some Multiplayer games , your Car Sound dissapears , and its weird that because of this you basically cannot drive without the sound feedback from the car.

If we're talking about the same issue we're right in the middle of fixing this. The way this is triggered is by letting the timer run out while you are in the car setup. The timer starts when other people have readied up and are waiting on track. So the way around this for now is to avoid letting the game kick you out of the setup - so back out yourself before the timer hits 0.

Do you expect me to reply to this? I'm going to click "ignore" so I no longer see your posts. I'm willing to interact and try to resolve issues of polite people but I'm not going to interact with people who can't be civil.
I'm sorry for the emotion .. Just solve this problem , it's obvious . I bought the game for the classic cars, and here is (((understand me correctly . Can't understand one thing - it's so hard to fix the patch ....

Yes , its exactly the same issue , thanks for the Workaround , I have passed the workaround message around onto our Whatsapp Group.

No known way to get the cars to sound normal/versus over-reffing when Spectating other players in Multiplayer ?

The silent engines fix is being tested as we speak so hopefully that will be ready for a patch.
The limiter issue is not an audio issue (audio is just the byproduct), I know a couple of teams are looking into this and I'm just as eager as you to see this fixed but I don't have any new details yet.

Hi mate, there is also something odd happening with the Mercedes, try it with ABS turned on, for some reason the tyres can be heard momentarily chirping during downshifts, especially when downshifting into 4th, 3rd and 2nd gears.

The Mercedes is the only car it happens too

I've now submitted a fix for the traction control audio bug that affects some classic cars. I expect this to be in patch 1.7 but no promises as patches are nothing to do with me. Thanks for your patience.

Super news )) once again I apologize to you for the harsh statements . and please tell them to add the effect of red brake discs (when braking ) .F1 2017 has this effect . And in f12018 this effect is absent ...

Hi all,

This should be fixed in the 1.07 update, which is out now for Steam, with PS4 and Xbox One following soon. Please let us know if the patch has worked for you or if you are still experiencing the problem. You can check out all the fixes for 1.07 here.

I'm currently in my first Full Season in Career and my first drive was in the Toro Rosso Honda. I drove in that Team for 6 races before changing to the Works Renault Team.
During my first Practice Session in my new Team, the Renault sounded like a "Bag of Bolts" being dragged along the ground. The engine, err, Power Unit, sounded absolutely terrible  :s  Am I going to have to listen to THIS all season long, I thought.
Then, before Practice 2, I noticed that the Renault ICE was 95% worn  :o
So I replaced the 95% worn ICE with a new one (and some other engine components too), and then for Practice 2 the Renault Power Unit performed and sounded beautifully (for a Hybrid)  :)  
I liked that.  Well done to the Audio Dept. of Codemasters. That was a nice touch to the game.
OLD ICE = Sounds like a Bag of Bolts
NEW ICE = Smooth, crisp, clear engine sound

I do like how the worn engines start to sound a little worse for wear. 
Although when they do fail, I wish it wouldn't just cut scene straight away, would be nice if Jeff told you the problem and you had to park it first.

patch 1.07 removed the traction control sound from certain classic cars, is 1.08 going to address this ?
No, traction control audio has been permanently removed and will not return in 2018. This is due to many players feeding back that classic cars are basically unplayable due to the traction control audio annoying them on upshifts. We can't fix it triggering on upshifts so this is the compromise.

CM took out one of the best audio creation they have made without notice, good job...

As posted in another thread:

The unfortunate reality is we were inundated with feedback telling us how awful traction control triggering on the upshifts was. We were constantly being asked why this isn't being fixed. Have a quick search of the forum posts because at the last count I found at least 8 unique threads of people complaining about traction control audio. So with that it was removed, we can't, and clearly haven't pleased everybody but that's the reality.

As for why you wouldn't have read this in the patch notes. It was one of many bugs that were fixed for a patch, it wouldn't be feasible to feedback every single element that makes it into a patch.
