F1 2018 how to change ai difficulty in career mode?

Recommended Posts

I setup the AI to low and I don't know where to change it. This is not working like 2017. Anyone know?

I think you can only change it between race weekends, after you finish the first race and go to the load screen where you can choose the tyre allocation event 2, you can do it there. Under the preferences tab.

@DanHawk1ns any ideas? It was pretty useful in 2017 with AI being so unbalanced from track to track.

Hey Guys,

I believe you can only change difficulty between race weekends.  During the "loading" screen, there is an options trigger and it's done there.

So, if you're already in a session/in between sessions, you would have to wait until the weekend is over and you're back in the data centre > loading screen.

Hope that helps!

Why would you remove that. I changed it to 0 for the invitational. And now i'm stuck with 0 difficulty for a very exciting track, Azerbeijan...

Another great feature removed....

When the next weekend/track is loading, press ''options'' to open the settings, you can change the difficulty from there. @Hoo I suggest a change to have the game open the settings menu by default during loading , as it works now it's too easy to miss, and once it's done loading you're stuck with 'wrong' settings for a whole GP weekend.

What! On 2017 you could change it after a session, say the AI was too fast in practise or to slow you could change it on a session for session basis!!

Why remove things like this was the game @DanHawk1ns I am seriously getting annoyed with this game already!

AI are too imbalanced so it was perfect in 2017 to tune he AI in practise ready for the qualy and racing l.

This has to be put back in can see me getting my less than 2 hour refund wih how things are going.

You actually need to complete the weekend before you can change difficulty. When you go to the next weekend you can change it in the loading screen before any sessions. This should work as I managed to change the difficulty from 101 to 104 inbetween Australia and Bahrain. I hope this helped.

It definitely hasn't been removed for me on PS4, you might want to check again? It's just not there between the sessions, but when loading the next GP weekend you can change everything.

You only have to option once when going to the next weekend. I missed it and have to restart career again. Also the tyre program is unbeatable for me when I have to difficulty setup for quali and race. In 2017 you could switch difficulty between sessions. Please bring back the options menu when loading career. Not only between 2 weekends but every time you load career from the main menu just like 2017. Can't believe you would remove such a thing. More options is always better  Why can't developers understand this.

I've passed the feedback onto our design team who will review this issue. I'll post back into this thread once there is more information.

Appreciate it @Hoo its just much easier to change the difficulty between sessions to balance the AI properly hopefully an easy addition since it was in 2017 :)

Ideally there is a slider for practice, quali and race. We should not have to fiddle around with sliders every session

People want to change between sessions though not between weekends.

For example if you go into p1 and the AI is too fast or slow you used to be able to adjust the difficulty before P2 to get the AI at a competitive level to your speed.

As it is now you have to just stick with the difficulty alway through the weekend its just not ideal. Even in older titles you could change between sessions this is the first game I can remember where you cannot.

Yeah, I completely missed it too.  I thought it would be an option in the data center between weekends rather than during a short loading screen.

I can 100% confirm after finishing a race and heading back to workstation. Once you click on the workstation and proceed to the next weekend. You can press options and bring up the same menu as was present in F1 2017 to change race settings and tyre strategy during the loading of the next weekend!

Yeah you can but since we do not know tbe pace of the AI for the next race we have to guess the difficulty for a whole race weekend. It needs to go back to how its always been and beable to change on a season for season basis.

It was the only thing that made the career practice modes somewhat bareable on 16 when I was on pad. Could race and qualify 100+ difficulty but only manage 70 or so for tyre wear tests.
