F1 2019 Suggestion - Career continuation

Recommended Posts

There is no way I can complete 10 seasons in F1 2018 before F1 2019 is released. Is there anyway I can continue my career in F1 2019 next year when it is released?

Yeah something I wanted also for this year. Continue my F1 2017 career in F1 2018. Not being greeted like a rookie but as a world champion. I've won already more than 10 world championships and my manager treats me every year like I have amnesia or something. And Claire should be more in awe when she get's introduced to me. I'm a multiple world champion for god's sake  :)

Import player data from year before would be cool. Also for statistics. But i think they will not make it possible due to regulation and/or feature changes.

Think of it as F1 2017 was GP2 and then the same for F1 2018 when F1 2019 comes out etc.  :D

But what happens when F1 2020 comes out and yet again you have to start your career again. Even though your only 2-3 years in...
And it's F1... Not GP2!

10 years in GP2 is not much of a career ?
40-50 years over 4-5 games or even more (if that feature is implemented) is not really a realistic scenario either.

I know I was just joking because someone said they wanted to appreciated as a multiple champion and not a rookie.

I would say repeating 2017 season 10 times before going to 2018 is not very realistic either.

I think the system is fine as it is, no need to carry over career from previous game. Maybe implement an alternative career mode where you only do 1 season and that career would be carried over. Or have a career that is 15 or 20 years long with the possibility of retiring when you want. If it was a perfect game it would include GP3 and F2.

Yeah the system is fine but am I the only one that started his career thinking "oh no, not this again. manager you know me. I made you rich! Have you forgotten that?" and that look on Claire's face. She's the rookie! I've been here for 10 years now, she's new, not me. She should be asking for an autograph.

Could maybe select an option for previous history when you start like World Champ, promising rookie or pay driver

this idea I like but when editing the history you can choose like GP2\GP3 Champ, Indy Car champ and other open seater racers but not just champs but runner up, placed 5th in the last season ect ect, and depending on what you choose effects what the team you choose expects your performance to be.

so for example if you choose to be the current GP2 champ, your team would expect more from your then if you where runner up in formula 3000

You know what Claire said after my Melbourne race in 2nd season? "We all underestimated you didn't we?". Career continuation is a very good idea. People should recognize my achievements. In F1 2019 I demand more respect from Claire.  ;)

What we need is extra tracks and fictional drivers so that the seasons can change each year with rule changes, schedule changes, and driver movement.

Seems like they should really just turn the game into a platform and each year is DLC.  In this situation they'd probably get to polish up the base engine, fix the bugs that has existed for many years now, and be done with those bugs once and for all.  Then you can seamlessly progress through real seasons with whichever years you have paid for, they could still add in some new career features with each year as they've already been doing, no reason to keep buying whole separate games for that.

Creating a stable platform and then having the time to keep adding content and features to it is better than trying to keep recreating something that doesn't need to be recreated.  Microsoft finally did this with Windows 10, instead of new messy OS' that didn't even really add new features they're just sticking with the Windows 10 platform and adding regular feature updates to it.

I understand that some people have unlimited time and can get through 10 seasons before a year is up, and the current system works for them. I think that the career should be limited to 10 years, but should span across the releases.
Comments I like from above.  Rookie v paid driver. DLC each year. Great ideas!

Need to carry the career idea/mode over onto online. So for example, in my league of 20 drivers we should be able to do it like a career with testing and developement programs between race weekends. At the end of the season, should have options to sign new contracts with rival teams depending on how well you did so players within the league can/will change teams. Now that would be cool. I know, just a dream but still would be fricken awesome and not so boring doing a career against the Ai all the time.

I think it would be kinda cool to have online leagues with the car performance and development from career mode...idk if it would be better to start with spec cars that all have the same performance or you could have there real performance and have team managers and hold testing sessions and the league racers can try out for the teams and get drafted/chosen based on performance then have driver transfers between seasons

Id be happy if you got treated like an world champion in the current game I mean im starting 5th season 2 title had an mega fight with teammate riccardo for the one ive just won at the last race every race from singapore the lead was changing between the 2 of us and after I won it not an single question or any mention of it which is ridiculous its the whole point of the game to fight for titles at the end of it all . One thing that has annoyed is about the codies f1 games is that you just feel like your doing the races for the fun of it it doesnt feel like the is any kind of story mode majority of questions from claire feel num and pointless basicly it would be cool to have some type of story how youve come from an rookie to multi world champ
