[F1 2018] [Xbox One X] [Multiplayer] [Achievement] “Safety First” not Unlocking

Hi there.

Last night I increased my Safety Rating enough in Multiplayer to reach a rating of A.




This should unlock the “Safety First” Achievement, but sadly it has not done so for me.
I have continued racing today, maintained my rating and the Achievement remains locked.

For reference I am playing on version 1.04.

Please let me know what can be done to resolve this.

I’ve got the same issue on PS4 with 1.04 version. From what I can assume you should unlock the achievement after the 5 placement races in a ranked lobby. No one has the trophy yet so everyone’s getting this issue. Hopefully they fix it in the next patch because I’ve only got two more trophies to unlock including that one.

Wrong one, you’re referring to “Obtain a Skill Rating in Multiplayer”.

That Achievement/Trophy is currently unobtainable on both consoles but I've read that Codemasters have already figured that one out, so a fix should come soon.

Update: Since posting this I've de-ranked myself and am now working my way back up to A.

If I still don't get the Achievement once I've reached A-Rating I fear the Achievement is permanently locked-away for me, which would be a shame as it would mean I cannot "complete" the game  :(

Im trying to get back up to A as I should have the Achievement for doing so but it didn’t unlock despite me meeting the requirements. Even with clean races, larger lobbies and minimal warnings I’m now on the verge of going down to D.

The system right now seems happy to punish drivers for negative play but reluctant to reward them for the opposite.

Im going to abandon Multiplayer now until version 1.05 hits Xbox One. If things fail to improve after that update I’ll wait until 1.06, and failing that I’ll drop Multiplayer altogether as Forza Horizon 4 is fast approaching, and I doubt I’ll return.

Its a shame as I really enjoyed the racing when I was in A, but if I can’t get back up to that level there’s no point in me playing online. This bug preventing me from getting 100% completion simply adds to my frustration with the game right now.

Adding templated information as outlined by @Faya, sorry for not doing this earlier:

• A short description of the problem:
  On August 31 I reached the Safety Rating of A in Ranked Multiplayer.
  This should unlock the "Safety First" Achievement but it did not trigger.
  
  
• Platform you’re on (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Steam):
  Xbox One X
  
  
• Game Version (Shown on the Start screen in the bottom left hand corner):
  1.04
  
  
• Game Mode, including if it was Single Player or Multiplayer (Time Trial, Career, Grand Prix, Custom Game etc):
  Ranked Multiplayer
  
  
• If in Multiplayer, how many players and how many AI?:
  Between 6 and 10 in the race where I increased my Safety Rating to A
  I subsequently completed a race at Monaco where my rating increased further (still within A) and the Achievement did not unlock.
  
  
• What happened in the lead up to the problem?:
  I completed a race at France, and increased my Safety Rating to A.

Another update:

I managed to string together 6 clean races tonight with no penalties whatsoever.

My rating went from D/95% to B/25% which is good, but once I hit B the progress simply halted with successive clean races. I tried backing out of the first lobby (which was full of Ds and Cs) and into one with more Bs but even a successful clean race in here gave me zero point gain. 

I dont know what else I can do to get back up to A and potentially unlock the Achievement that I was supposed to get on September 1, so I’m going to abandon Multiplayer again until version 1.07 becomes available. 

I don’t know if the issue is with Codemasters or Xbox at this point; should I contact Xbox Support and see if they can help?

Not good.

If getting "back up to A" in order to attempt to trigger the Achievement again is the solution, this makes that even harder.

I should have earned this Achievement 3 months ago (as evidenced by my first post) but still haven't gotten anything. I do want to go back to F1 2018 and try and unlock the Achievements I missed first-time round, but if this one is permanently locked out to me I'm not going to bother ?

@Faya, is there anything I can do on my end to help with unlocking this Achievement, or is it all in the hands of Codemasters at this point? As noted in my signature I greatly enjoy completing Codemasters games every year and have put up with Achievement bugs before but to have the latest title completely lock me out of 100% completion would be a great shame ?

Hi @PJTierney, thanks so much for your patience. I’ve got another group that I’m kicking at the moment. In the mean time, have you been able to get yourself back up to an A rank yet? I’m not sure if you experienced the Safety Ranking issue, but that should be fixed in the next update for those that have experienced it.

After I de-ranked myself in September I climbed back up to B before stopping to play Forza Horizon 4.

This past weekend (right after my last post) I hopped into F1 2018 to see if anything would trigger, but it appears my rankings got reset to Placement. I'm aware that's a separate bug that's getting resolved, but it did sap the motivation for that evening admittedly.

I have a feeling that there is a one-time "trigger" for this Achievement (I experienced a similar bug with DiRT Rally) and while the game has recognised that trigger it has not sent it to Xbox. If my theory is right then getting back up to A may not help.

Still no Achievement unfortunately, looks like there’s nothing more I can do :disappointed:

Quick update; I’m now up to a Safety Rating of S (27%). The Achievement didn’t unlock for me here either.

Sadly, I think this is now unobtainable for me, bringing my 100% completion streak of recent Codemasters titles to an end. :disappointed:

I've just unlocked this today. The way I obtained it was doing 25% races, then switched it down to 5 lap races when I needed two more clean races to do to get the achievement unlocked. It unlocked for me after the qualifying period on my last race.

Seems it's a Codemasters issue rather than an Xbox issue and will require a patch to get your achievement unlocked. I'm sure your not the only one with this problem.

Were you already rated A before doing those races, or did it unlock for you the first time you got to A?

Last I played I was at S.

I don't mind waiting to see if this gets resolved, doesn't seem like an easy bug to identify and fix.
