Weather change during Q3

Recommended Posts

Hey guys
I got a little big problem with Q3 in China starting as dry, but after finishing my first lap (and last possible dry lap) weather switches to light rain and stays until the end of the quali with me on pole.
So guess what happend, instead of pole position after retiring Im now sitting in 8th place with + 6.xxx sec. The AI somehow are capable of making the light rain session on ultrasofts, faster than me on dry track. Of course Ive tried wait for the end of the session to do another dry lap but conditions stays as light rain.
Have u ever seen this before?
Thanks for any advice or fixing this shit <3

Anything that makes the session finish early usually results in simulated times. Once times are simulated, weather is ignored and logic goes out the window. I think even selecting 'flying lap' can occasionally cause stupid simulated lap times.

Do not retire or accelerate sessions... It is a glitch but it is same as 2017. I do not expect to be fixed...

Ive had this problem. The AI simulated times do not reflect changeable conditions. Basically if it starts raining on your first lapped you are screwed because the AI will post times as if the lap was completely dry rather than on a slightly damp/greasy track. This was a big issue in 2017 as well so a shame it wasn't sorted. (or its a bug..)

Actually the time acceleration didnt make the AI to simulate lap times, just retiring from the session on my xbox did. In that session a drove an outlap to be sure it stays as it was. I didnt even dare to jump to garage. So i dont know if the Jump to garage make AI to simulate laps due to session time change from track to pits.
Thanx anyway! This might help someone in the future :)

Accelerating won't create the bug. I've done it hundred times this year and last. Remember to go out manually not to flying lap. Not for the bug but because the auto outlap is slow and will put you in 5th 6th position which is bad if you want to put the time before the rain starts...

Track could also improve so be ready to go out at the end of the session.

Yeah i accelerate time all the time and it never has affect on ai times.  I never do flying laps or quick return to garage or retire from session though.
