PC - Logitech Driving Force GT and Thrustmaster TX - Fix PS/Xbox Icons

Question

I got to try my Driving Force GT Wheel with the PC game today (I did some surgery and repaired the broken shifter buttons), and saw that the game didn't show the playstation buttons in the game and complained about a non-supported wheel. I dived in the action maps files and found a mistake in the file of the wheel in the XML.
After fixing it the wheel works like a charm, including PS buttons in menu etc.
Here is the fixed file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pyqolndgbqujf9r/logitech_DrivingForceGT.xml?dl=0
It needs to be put in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2018\actionmaps
Backing up the old file is not a bad idea.
The fix is in line 7 and 388, for those who are interested.
I also changed indentation for convenience.
@Codemasters please fix this in the next update.

Kind regards,
Clemens

@doberjam1 yes when you don't change the file mentioned in the first post, you get only numbers. With the change you should get the PS buttons.

@Soupy1985 I'll have a look at the TX file.

@Soupy1985
Try this file
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ff7f7hn5mb561ry/thrustmaster_tx.xml?dl=0

Put it in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2018\actionmaps

Tooltips were commented in the XML, I uncommented them (and hope they are fine)

If it doesn't work I'll have to dig deeper...

I suppose this means it works fine :)
There are btw more wheels were the same problem exist, Fanatec CSR e.g.
It's a bit sad that those files are so sketchy instead of ready...

I have an older wheel, the Driving Force Pro. Game recognizes it just fine, but seeing the PS buttons would be a lot of help. I don't see an XML file for my specific wheel though. Any suggestions?

I guess the xml is logitech_f_pro.xml (you can verify this by cut and paste it somewhere else and see if the game still recognize the wheel, afterwards place it back)
I will have a look on it next week, there are no tooltips included so I'll try to add them manually...unfortunately at the moment I don't have time for that, but somewhere next week I'll have a look to it.

@Qres

OK Please try this file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wkqg2044q7lp09k/logitech_f_pro.xml?dl=0
Backup the original one.

Please let me know if some buttons are displayed now instead of numbers, and if so if they are correct. (screenshots are welcome)
I guess I'll need some iterations on it to get it right...without having the wheel it's not that easy...

Still numbers, didn't actually change anything. I really appreciate the effort though. Thanks.

Sorry my mistake couldn't work...
Please try again, previous link should still work.
Normally it will still be far from right, but it would be an improvement if already some buttons are visible, be it at wrong locations...

Well done sir, it worked and it looks like everything is marked correctly.

Great to hear that the basic PS buttons already are correct, it seems that logitech was pretty consistent with there button numbers...
Are e.g. paddle shifters also correct?
Easiest way to check is probably to go to the menu where the steering wheel assignments can be changed, and look if there are any numbers left and if all symbols are correct.

The paddles are showing up as L1 and R1, so all good there.
