Starting on top of other cars - DSQ from race

What a frustrating experience it is to play online. Cars are starting on top of each other all the time... wth...
I just started on top of another car, it pushed me into a wall and had to reverse to get out.... well don't you know! DSQ for reversing.
Its time to fix this shit... getting real tiring.

I can confirm this also! Before the lights went out at Monaco I had another car sat on top of me!! Now, I didn’t know you could line up on top of each other on a formula one grid! I think this is the worst bug iv ever seen! Please release an emergency patch, as online is dead already! This is on Xbox one too, ranked matches yet again!

This has been a thing since '15 I think but can't be bothered looking for it. 


It's definitely "fixed" for one scenario in 16(spawn inside another car if both had grid penalty)...

Wow!!! The fact the same issue is still in this years game tells me all I need to know! They don’t care about online at all, if that’s the case I’d rather another developer have a go at making an F1 game! @FRACTURED

Whats the deal with these old issues that re-occur every year? Can we get some explanation from the Devs how these problems, although highlighted in Beta, and having previously been fixed at least twice, make it into released game still? 

Okay, I'm not a programmer and so maybe there is a good explanation for this - if there is please ask them to share it.

How is that possible, that we know earlier than the first notes about new game comes (in may?) that it will contain the same bugs as previous year(s) game?
I believe you do a lot of testing, but the results forces us to doubt, that you use are doing it well. Any automatic tests for scenarios like this or SC problems, or any regression tests must show you the problems much earlier then after releasing the game!
Many of those bugs were fixed at least once and they reappear again, that's really sad.

When you have to develop a new product every year, it's humanly impossible to not re-use elements from the previous one, you cannot build a new game from scratch every year. So yeah, it can happen that the same kind of bugs appear.

However, since the "spawning on top of each other" bug was fixed with the 2 mentioned root causes in previous games, it means it now happens for a new reason. Just because you see a bug that manifests itself in the same way, doesn't mean the root cause is the same and they re-implemented a bug that was fixed before. I'm sure they will find the reason again and fix it.

Many more of the issues than just this start/spawn inside/on top of are repeated each year, its not feeling like they start each year with a copy of the fully patched previous years game then add and test NEW features. 

Perhaps they have a Dev version of ego they start each year with as it ports easily to either consoles and can be programmed to run on the PC. And basically spend 6 months trying to fix everything that's broken, then 6 months updating car assets and adding new features, rinse and repeat. Same issues. Over and over.
