Tips on how to drive in the rain??

Recommended Posts

I just can't drive in the rain, I'm terrible. I can't get a good traction and I'm always WAY behind the AI. Can anybody give me some tips or is it the car setup??

Lower ballast and on throttle differential. Add one click of downforce. and short shift coming out of corners also important to not rotate the car too much or too suddenly as you’ll already be sliding even before you put the power down

No jerky steering movements. Brake about 50 meters earlier than you would in the dry. Be smooth on the throttle on exit. Add a click or two of downforce. If you think that isn't enough then go with a slightly softer spring suspension.

drive like you are fuel saving.
short shift, lift n coast then break for corners.
and lower on throttle dif is helpful along with pushing the break bias more toward the rear. (not too much tho)

Be as patient as possible, always wait until you can feel the grip, Don't force the car as you will just acqaplane off. Honestly the slower it feels the quicker it will be

Im having some problems this year too^^ I was pretty good in last years game when there was water involved. I would say on Inters im fine, I am faster then the AI when it comes to that. But full wet? I get DEMOLISHED by the AI...
Probably just need more practice to get used to it. I had full wet conditions in very few quali sessions only, none in the race yet.

If your a beginner (like me) an no racing game expert, use a controller etc.....for extreme rain turn the assists on full. Some experts will frown an mock but if your new to the game I find myself being competitive during the rare instances when there is extreme rain.

Doesnt work for everyone tho as during online championships with my friends they fall to bits as soon as the rain comes an claim they’ve turned assists up. For me tho I’m glued to the track unless i really push it too far.

also just keep practising on single one off races so your ready for it during your career mode save without the assists. Takes time. Rewarding though
