Career mode with real driver not avatar?

Recommended Posts

I do not think it is possible, or is it? To me it is really immersion breaking to see some random guy being the main protagonist - even if he shares my name... Surely it should be an option of whether to go for "me in F1" or drive "as" Gasly, Ocon, Hamilton etc? i know there is the championship mode, but it is missing most of the new features that are in career mode :(

Would be cool but then it's just a championship + R&D, since you can't switch teams or get fired if you're doing really poorly. I hope one day there'll be more freedom for the devs and less restrictions.

If only Codemasters had a much larger budget to play around with where they could be spending at least 10x more than they currently do.

No money = No freedom

PS: Sadly the F1 licence supposedly is one of the more expensive ones out there, so it becomes even more ridiculous to see how much money Codemasters might be spending just to keep exclusivity.

If i hypothetically had a company with a total networth of a small 100 million, and was in a constant financial struggle to keep up, i certainly wouldn't waste my budget on a overprized exclusive deal but instead would guarantee more freedom for my devs.

Codies supposed finacial decisions seriously don't make any sense tbh, guess the annual income of the F1 franchise might be just enough to keep Codies afloat, or that someone at Codemasters truly is a huge fan of Formula Racing and doesn't care about the limitations, or that the shareholders of Codemasters are possibly deeply connected to the exclusive deal and only use Codemasters as a mean to print money regardless of quality output.

Either way, we won't know for certain as long as none of the official representatives of Codemasters publicly clarify how their licence is being acquired, what the terms and conditions are that they have to obey and or how their financial spending has been set over the years.

All we can do is speculate on behalf of the extremely small pool of info we can get via the almighty internet and its depth to the abyss of human insanity.

A little bit of transparity doesn't seem to be in Codies interest, but then again what company will share confidential data to the public without being held accountable by their partners?
