Tyre problem

Recommended Posts

i use a pad to play f1 2018 and i noticed that it's really hard for me to manage the tyre temperature. For example in mexico the hypersoft lasts only 6-7 laps with good lap times(100% race), then it's just impossible to keep down the temperatures. The wheel users though can do it much better and they drive much more quicker than me and can be way more competitive. Maybe a little fix to this cody? it's a big disadvantage for pad users

i forgot to mention , i use no assists . other friends of me have the same problem ( pad users).
@ChironTheseus i'd have to show you at least 10 laps to figure something out. maybe it's not a bug, i don't know, but i can tell you that even on the straights tyre temperature doesn't cool down, maybe 1 degree sometime. But at this point it's still early to say if it's because of the setup or a bug. i'll update this as soon as my league starts racing and gather more info about this

Pad user, Xbox, No assists. Never had a problem on any track and have done multiple races on just about every track especially Monaco and Singapore which seem to be most complained about. I dont personally think there is an issue at all. I think people are simply not being patient enough and then blaming the game. I seriously hope Codemasters do not alter the tyre physics based on these complaints as this is the best handling F1 game there is imo.

I play on PS4 and I had this exact bug recently in Career, it started in Singapore when I started in P11, I had Ultrasofts at the start and they're fresh, but on lap 4-5 the temps were rising to 103-110 degrees very fast and no matter how hard I try to cool them down by actually trailing like a snail the temps are still rising and not cooling down heck the wear is not even big since they're in the 10%-20%, and it happened again in Russia when I was starting P2 and now Japan starting P1 I'm in currently, it never happened in the last patch and I'm currently in Season 3 so I can tell something's not right with the tire temps. It didn't help when I'm battling for the lead and the AI aren't suffering tire wear that caught up with me rapidly and can't hold them off and they still pull a gap toward me, it has to be a bug, hope Codies fix this, I can't play Career like this especially when I'm currently battling for the title only to be ruined by a recent patch.

I'm a pad user & I have tyre temp. issues but I really don't see this as a big issue. You just have to find a way of driving around the issue.

May i ask you guys which difficult are you playing on and are you using assists? because it depends a lot also on that. I usually play online in a very competitive league. We had a pre season race in mexico this week(100% race).  i got a 13.2 in qualifying( no assists), which is a very good lap. Race: first laps were ok, but then tyre temps were just impossible to control. i'm not saying that there shouldn't be any management of the tyres, but when i see that wheel users can drive faster because their tyres overheat less than mine

Oh and i tested a thing online with a friend(wheel user). Spain,100% race,we both did 2 quali laps on the soft tyre(with basically the same setup). Then we got to lap 29 without stopping. I had a 78% tyre wear while he had 68%. And i tried to save my tyres, i did not go on a full attack every lap.
Here's a video showing a similar issue

I'm a pad user and don't have a problem...
ever thought maybe you are just too slow to put stress on the tyres and that racing AI on ima guess 80 doesn’t really push the tyres?? Just saying coz I am a fast pad driver and I have this issue on certain tracks and everyone I race with who is on the pad also has this issue so it definitely is a thing.

Monaco was so hard. Literally could not keep temps under control have any sort of decent lap time. Im struggling in Spain too, but I have to say I don’t see that it’s an issue. I’ve only struggled on two circuits so far (only at Austria). Spain is notorious for being heavy on tires so I feel like struggling there is what it would be like for real. Once I got temps up to like 106 I was able to keep them there by backing off slightly one lap then pick the pace back up depending on the temps.
Austira im having no issues at all and im
pushing hard every lap more or less.

Monaco on the other hand.... I wouldn’t say it’s a bug, but I think maybe the carcass temp calibration might be off for that circuit. To be honest tho I find the circuit too difficult on the whole and usually crash after a few laps.

i am also a pad user no assists and 100 difficulty

I dont even think its about people been patient as im a pad user not the smoothest of drivers and havent had the problem what I think it could be is the team people are with but then that would only apply to career another thing it could be is if people are useing no abs on a pad and have there break pressure too high that can also heat the tyres specialy if locking up  and its hard to break smoothly on a pad its iether full break pressure or none very hard to find the middle ground for me any ways people who are having the issue should do some testing with there settings just to make sure its not something on there end before asking codies to change it
