[BUG] FIX Your Multiplayer Safety Rating System

Recommended Posts

I just ran a 5 lap race, CLEAN, no incidents, no corner cuts, nothing. AND I LOSE SAFETY RATING? HOW?

I get it, its a short race, and I have an A Safety rating, but COME ON Codemasters. I SHOULD NOT LOSE Safety Rating on a completely clean race.

FIX IT...

EDIT: I was a bit ranty, but seriously. I do not understand how people can have clean races, and lose Safety Rating, and others have crappy races, or intentionally punt people off the circuit, yet somehow still gain safety rating. It seems like Safety Rating is randomly generated now, which defeats the point of having it in the first place.

Something needs done with it. It can't just be ignored. Safety Rating was one of the bigger selling points for Multiplayer, and you still managed to mess it up...

What were your previous races before this. Safety rating isn't based on the last race you finished it works on an average. Try to do more 25‰ races. The only time I found my safety rating drop was when I started doing more 5 lap races. There was about 3 races consecutively where I got punted off, tapped or got a warning and quickly went from S to A. But then I did more 25‰ and kept clean with no contact or going off track and I'm now back to 100‰ S. You should find there's less players in a 25% lobby compared to a 5 lap so it reduces the chances of turn 1 pile ups or the number of idiot drivers.

I feel your pain on this i get the odd corner cut or track extend here and there which I accept for saftey rating, but I shouldn’t be any lower than a B/A but I am because when I get punted from someone I get the warning a penalty and my Saftey rating goes down by 70000000, it’s stupid, I’m a fairly clean driver yeah have wheel to wheel contact but shouldn’t lose saftey rating for that either it’s racing...
i don’t know the whole of Online is broke, I mean I’m still getting cars on top of each other which they ‘fixed’

Even if it were based off of what you said, it would still go up and down accordingly.

I had one bad race where I think I got -3 or -4 incidents, and my rating tanked 25% accordingly, which I accept to a certain extent. Then I do a race of 0 incidents, and still lose Safety Rating? How is that averaging out? If I do a perfectly clean race, and it was "averaging" it out, I should still go up. Maybe not by much, but it would still go up. Not continue going down..

And with it changing after every race, I am whole-heartedly convinced that the increase and decrease is determined per race, and not on an average system. If I had to hazard a guess, they tried to base it VERY loosely off of what iRacing does, but Codemasters got it wrong and it does not work as intended, and is broken until they care enough to fix it.

The ranking is just as bad I was gold had 1 race where I was taken out and DNF I lose 200 points the very next race I purposely start at the back of a 19 car grid I finish 2nd and gain 1 point! Why is there such a large discrepancy between how much u gain and how much u lose?

I think you have to be winning consistently or at least being in the top 3. To get gold. Each race where you don't your skill rating does take a hit and you'll have to win more races or finish in the top 3 consecutively again and can't regain a lot of skill points from 1 race after from a previous bad one. I understand where you're coming from though likewise with the safety rating
