"Mock up" Patch Notes for 1.09 - Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Here at Codemasters we have decided to listen to your feedback and actually implement your ideas and thoughts.

Here are the "proposed" amendments.

  • Fixed annoying high tyre temperatures at Monaco and Singapore for PAD users and brought in line with other circuits in career mode.
  • Reduced A.I difficulty at Monaco and Singapore in line with other circuits
  • Increased A.I difficulty at Austria in line with other circuits
  • Reverted A.I aggression back to 1.04 pre patch (A.I will no longer move out of the way at the apex of corners anytime you drive near them)
  • Created a bigger "sweetspot" on rev counter for getting a good race start.
  • AI to not park car on apex of corner when letting cars through after being shown blue flags.
  • Any player in a 5 lap multiplayer race who is to be lapped will be "ghosted" so as not let silly trolls ruin races for others by crashing in to them.

Hopefully we will one day implement these changes, please continue to pass back your feedback.

Thank you
Laya

Do pad users realize that the more sensitive overheating exists for wheel users as well around those tracks and is fully intentional, and manageable? It's not supposed to be in line with the other circuits. They've got the hypersoft compound available that's prone to overheating, and Monaco/Singapore have barely got any straights to cool them back down. On a wheel as well; if you're not managing them through every turn your tyres are cooking in five laps. It's hard, but it's a great addition.

Agreed & I'm a pad user.

Yeah its odd, wondering how much is on different systems? Singapore for me is pretty easy too, Monaco is a beast to try to finish on the AI strategy for sure though!
Still unsure on AI aggressiveness.. I think they aren't as assertive as the very beginning.. I have noticed they can sometimes back out as a past video of mine proved and before any patches not even the backmarkers cared to back out. So something has definitely changed, however small a change. It definitely needs to stay pre-patch, the AI are unlike any other, and as videos prove, the only ones complaining were the ones dive bombing the AI! Codies could add a training sim like in Dirt Rally where you have to complete scenarios on a small track with cones, learn to overtake AI by showing them how to really race, that would also help online too. I really do believe most poor racers just simply don't know how to race. The rest are just cheats often helping others to win races. And a slim few just making little mistakes, as humans do..

Still true about tire overheating. The numbers from codemasters are wrong. In Singapore the drivers where 10 sec slower to stop overheating the tires. In the game that don't work because the AI drivers don't have i think the same algorithm user have. Specifically for pad drivers is that more difficult to manage.

Bug is a big word. But maybe polish it better would do wonders for the normal fans from this game.

For the e sporters and online is it for everybody the same in career not.

WTF is this post?
3/4 of these things aren't even bugs.
AI aggression hasn't changed. The blue flag issue isn't an issue and there AI balance is off on more tracks than the ones listed.

These are the OP bugs and has nothing to do with the community.

Please dont change the "sweetspot" on the rev counter. Itsn't realistic when everyone have the same start. It's awesome to see ppl gain positions at the start.

Hi all,

While I get the point of the post and I know that no one is pretending to be a Codies employee (which is against the forum rules and something we insta-ban on by the way), I don’t want anyone to get confused. Therefore I’m going to be closing this thread.

There are already threads about most of the items in the list, so please continue those conversations in the relevant threads, or start a new thread if there isn't one active. Thanks.
