Spain: No grip in corner 11/12

Recommended Posts

Hi, anyone else noticing there is zero grip in Spain, corner 11 -> 12?
I thought it was only me, but my friends had the same feeling.
We tried on medium and full TC but it feels like ice.

That might be the toughest corner in the whole game without a proper setup. I try to go as straight as I can over the curb on the left side so the car moves as little as possible, but you need to be careful not to cut the corner and get a penalty. There's also a chance you're too fast for the next right-hander. I tried to drive like the AI but the car just steers sharply to the left when hitting the curb. I don't really play around with my setup though. I like to keep it balanced and just adjust the wings a little bit. I also play with medium TC btw.

For me I found it better if I lift off slightly just before I reach the curb. Did catch me out the first time I went through there on this year's game

You have no grip in a specific corner? Did you try practicing really really hard, and lowering the AI difficulty?

Sorry. On topic. I always lift there, it often tries to throw me off track like Japan turn 5. Lower Diff under deceleration helped along with a little more rear wing (probably 4/9 or 5/9 for spain and suzuka).

Be gentle with the throttle even with Medium TCS, and it should at least be possible to get through there cleanly every lap, if not always super fast.

You didn't mention either that they should try with a steering wheel too

If you turn your car so you are facing the high curb straight, no turning you can half mount it without any issue whatsoever, you'll keep your speed and stability and gain no wear from tyres sliding. I do this every time without issue, but you need to line it up straight, any turn mid curb and you are going to drift, its a very high climb with a big dip to one side, you can't really take it any other way than straight on.

Hope the vid below helps, keeping a straight line on the curb is key.

Just comepletely avoid the curb on the inside. It may seem slower...... but it’s not
Whole heartedly agree. Hitting the curb is an absolute killer. If you avoid it the corner is much smoother.

Absolutely. You can actually take a lot of kerb with this one. But it takes some practice, a sharp entry then go almost straight over it. When succesfully taken the car lines up perfectly for the next corner entry. You almost have to turn before the kerb with this one.
Just slightly on the throttle carries momentum over it.

Codemasters!  You ruined my purple track acclimation program.  I refuse to adjust my racing line through turns 11/12, and demand an apology for the scrubbed lap time.  As a polyamorous, redhead who identifies as non-binary...shame, shame on you.
