Patch Notes for 1.09 – Discussion Thread

The thought that I could one day possibly run a career race at Monaco & Singapore without changing A.I difficulty is a bit tantalizing.......

 **LeClerc, who apparently in this game is a God. Now that we have the #2 car he's starting to get some wins for himself. Please add an option next year to allow me to sack the 2nd driver for the other guy mid season lol. I have used the talk to pit maybe twice in 4 years, is there a message to Jeff to LeClerc to move  ;)

When I started my career I had A.I at 90, now at Japan I have it at 96.

As I've played the game more and became more comfortable I increased the difficulty.

When I got to Monaco I think A.I was around 92, I managed to get within half a second of team mate which I was pleased with - obviously come the race my tyres had burned out by 4th lap.

Singapore I had to drop A.I from 96 back down to 92 to stay within half second of team mate in quali. I learned in this race to drive "smoother" to keep tyres cooler but was then lapping about 1.5 seconds off team mate pace.

Austria at about 93 A.I I was a second quicker than team mate both quali and race - ended up on podium

What I actually would like to see - is that AI teams also develop (or fail) their cars. Something like when in the 2nd or 3rd career season Williams suddenly has done good job and has 2nd best car and Mercedes suffers like McLaren last year etc. Independently what team player races for.

That already happens in this game. All teams upgrade at different speeds, in my career Renault made it to second team after two seasons while I was driving for Sauber, while Mercedes and Ferrari dropped to the midfield.

That already happens in this game. All teams upgrade at different speeds, in my career Renault made it to second team after two seasons while I was driving for Sauber, while Mercedes and Ferrari dropped to the midfield. 
Yup, same experience here, order changes. Ferrari and Red Bull overtook Mercedes early in S2, now I'm about to go to Silverstone and its...

Ferrari=Alfa(my team, we'll be strongest team after Germany)
Red Bull
Renault
Mercedes=Force India
Haas
McLaren
Torro Rosso
Williams

There's 10 or maybe 12 drivers who can realistically have a shot at getting to the podium based on car performance, but mainly its the stronger drivers who do. On certain tracks, in qualifying, top 10's are covered by well under a second. I've nicked pole by hundredths and lost it by thousandths. I've gone out of Q2 after thinking I was in into Q3 using the harder tyre. I kind of hate how much I am enjoying career, its just the cars get so damn fast too, Season 2 just did Austria, pole lap was something like a 1:03.2 in my Alfa on 110 AI. Can't wait for Monza and Hockenheim, as I'm about 2/3 through chassis upgrades. Its like a leech and hopefully some of the upgrades can help tyre cooling   :o

After installing the patch 1.09 in my xbox one x the problem of the screen tearing is still present in circuits like the one in Singapore when turning left at the first corner, with a lot of traffic and daytime. In circuits such as Monza, (first turn to the left) and Spa there is the same problem, especially at sunrise, sunset and overcast, in the first corners after the start and with many cars on the screen. It is a very annoying problem that seems to never have a solution. Please, fix it. Thank you.

Still Problems with the tyres.

Driving like on ice after 15-20 % tyre wear just isn't fun.

So recently I returned to the career mode and suddenly I have massive tyre overheating problems at Singapore GP, basically I am losing like 4-5 seconds after few laps on ultra softs... 

Never had such problem in this game before(lets say I did majority of races before sports update), even Monaco and Hungary was OK, and now it is unplayable at Singapore... Something tells me you introduced nice bug in your recent patches...

I am playing on pad, AI 90 and I had zero problems before recent patches... Flawless tyrewear and temps, so it is not my driving to blame. 

Every year you relase milions of patches and in the end the game is broken forever anyway... 

You still did not fixed LOW fps bug in ingame menus

Sometimes it is fine and I get almost 60fps (while 100% GPU usage - which is still wrong imho), but most of the time it drops to these numbers. Same thing happens with monitor in motorhome.

The PC is i5 4690k with GTX970 with latest updates and drivers.

so... just give up on the license and pass it to someone who knows how to make racing games (with menu designed for mouse and keyboard aswell)

Where are the traction control sound for cars like Ferrari F2002, Williams FW23, Ferrari F2004, Renault R26 and Ferrari F2007???? Codemasters removed it in 1.07, and didn't added again in 1.09. I'll not gonna play your game ti'll you add the Traction control sound for these cars again. I paid €50 for this game only because of the TC on these cars. And you simply removed it?

Yeah, since update 1.07
I've noticed that the sound animation only displays when you are in very slow corners, or chicanes. Instead of displaying when accelerating from the 1st to 3rd gear, like it supossed to be. Actually, it was like that in game, but they removed the sound in 1.07 and didn't added again. IDK WHY! That's very frustrating for me.

Could of issues I've noticed since 1.09 on PS4

1. Safety car at Spa came out on lap 2 and everyone dived into the pits. I was in 2nd as entered pits but got out in 1st due to quicker stop. Got near the safety car and Jeff tells me I can pass it. However on screen message states to stay behind as I'm the leader 

2. Safety car came in 2 laps later and I stayed behind it until it turned into the pits and then hit the gas out of the final chicane, however the on screen message stating safety car in this lap never disappeared from screen. Not a major issue but don't recall seeing this when I've had a safety car before

Another turkey. Ranked MP is bugged again, I get one attempt to connect then error code NM14

The spectator cam is randomly bugged with the rev counter on the limiter, sometimes the audio corresponds, sometimes it is normal. There is no rhyme or reason to it as far as I can see.

In a MP session with 20 drivers we had different ones getting the audio bug for different cars and the same cars. i.e. one driver spectates another with bug, another spectates same driver without a bug.

In regards to the tyre temps, the team is still discussing it and I am feeding back all of your comments to them.

On stats resetting, the team is looking at a fix for this, but I'm afraid I don't have a time frame at this point. 


but it should be the first thing the team should fix.

please fix the name and the stats @Faya cause this is the achievement online players have, compared to career mode.

if you will reset later and later we all lose so many kilometers and stats , its a shame that it took so long allready.
almost takes longer than in 2017 game.
