DLC Rallies for DiRT Rally 2.0 season 1 and 2

Recommended Posts

With Dirt Rally 2.0 coming in February 2019 we got to learn that we get the 6 following rally locations:

Location
- New Zealand,
- Argentina,
- Spain,
- Poland,
- Australia
- USA,

All rally locations use to be rallied in the past! With this in mind, we can make a list what rallies are problly yet to come. for the 2 seasons we get approxmitly 6 new rally location,

Now we are wondering what rally would be your favorite from the World Rally Championship?

Sadly we can not put all the locations as poll, thats why i selected the 10 best modern rallies in my eyes, and I didnt put the old DiRT Rally locations in the poll list, since its likely that they could return.

Please vote for your favorite rally what you would like to see as DLC for Dirt Rally 2.0, and post below your top 6

Following below there is a list of rallies that has been in the WRC, question is,

I'm voting Norway because we could need a snow rally. But in addition, we shouldn't restrict us to WRC rallies. It Could be other locations too

Seems a bit pointless, I'm sure decisions will have been taken about the first two and art already sought.

Also, you've missed out pretty much any choice I'd find interesting:

Belgium, Czech Republic, Switzerland (Valais), France (Gap/Monte Carlo), UK, Sweden, Austria (Janner), Greece.

I guess from the list, Ireland, Norway (if snow) or Corsica.

Also, should post stuff like this in the Suggestions forum really.

If location DLC works though, who says Codies won’t be open to suggestions for future DLCs?

Well, we don't really know what the base rallies are, so it's probably a bit early to vote for locations that we think are needed.

Ofcourse I would love to see the ERC rallies for example Ypres or Valais, a whole GB championship like Mobil 1 Rally championship or perhaps my national rally the ELE Rally around Eindhoven ( The Netherlands) ,

but based on DiRT's history the rallies sheeld been more global, focused on the old WRC rallies.
Thats why i shortend the list with the old WRC rally location etc etc. , those are the most common location that could been in a DLC

So the Steam page says 3 "locations" for each DLC, "split among rally and rallycross." Given that the time and effort to make an entire rally location probably far exceeds what's required for one rallycross track (which is a much smaller area,) I have a feeling it'll be 1 rally location and 2 rallycross tracks for each DLC, so 2 new rallies in total and 4 rallycross tracks in total.

Yes I'm totally pulling that out of thin air, but I feel pessimistic right now and I feel like they'd just come out and say how many of each if it really was actually evenly split. :)

@ShodanCat I agree with you and I will require this clarification before paying for anything. Not because I won’t buy it if there is ‘only’ one rally location, but because if they know the deal then it’s only fair to give that information up front. I bought Project CARS 2’s season pass but only after they pretty much leaked what would be in it.

Since Oliver Solberg apparently "leaked" that all RX circuits will be there, it only leaves room for 2 rally locations out of the 6 in total.

Then again, they used the phrase "first two seasons" which implies we might get more. I assume it depends on sales and general reception of the game when it's out.

We know some or all the old DR locations will be back, hopefully different parts - like the lower area of Monte Carlo and the vineyards of Germany.

But completely new for DR series;
Kenya - mud/water perfect for the degradation tech.
China or Japan - Far East scenery
Jordan - rather unique buildings and scenery
Olympus - its the only WRC event that has been in the USA (pure bias here)

Ah yes, that does appear to strengthen my hypothesis then. Bit of a bummer as I'm totally uninterested in RX.

Also, if there are only 2 DLC rallies and they're rehashes from Dirt Rally (I mean not just the country, but the stages themselves) I'm going to be more than a bit miffed. I feel like those should be a free update if they do indeed reuse Dirt Rally content.

Please Codies, at least make new stages if you reuse countries from Dirt Rally in the DLCs.

If it makes it easier to produce content I'm happy for them to use existing assets. I'm hoping DR2 will act as a base for a while to bolt a lot of content to, so I'd love a chance to enjoy the new game with the great DR stages (Germany, Sweden, Monte Carlo in particular).

I'm the same as you in that I have no interest in RX but I expect 2 RX circuits per DLC; would be nice to have it official.

Also means they may struggle for the same '3 locations' if they make more than 2 'seasons' without reusing some previous work, because they'd run out of potential RX venues after two packs.

Manx Rally.
Scotland.

Any rally with fast flowing, narrow roads and rolling countryside.
The longer the stages the better for me.

You should've put more options in the poll.

Eitherway here's my list of preferences:

1. Monaco (Turini [+ Sisteron if possible])
2. Sweden (Same as DR1 with new degradation technology)
3. Tour de Corse
4. Finland
5. Wales

This list ain't a priority list but rather a must-have.
Rallies take quite a bit of time to develop, specially the DEM scan and 3D modeling. But remember the rallies from DiRT Rally are assets that can be used and therefore a lot of work and time can be saved there. So having the DR1 rallies imported to DR2 should be one of the tasks for the future. One can simply not imagine starting a rally season without Monte Carlo and Sweden and one can not think about finish it without Wales.

Basically from that list, the only true new rally which would require the biggest chunk of work for the post-launch DLC would be Tour de Corse. Then I'd love to see other rallies like Safari, Mexico, Portugal, etc... But that would come in the future expansions. For now I think the need for a snow rally and Monaco is quite bigger than anything else. We already have a fair amount of gravel stages to start with. I'd love to have Finland as well but I'd understand if it is drawn much later into the game. Wales would have to be a must tho xD it's just a classic finish.

I think that with the day 1 locations
Argentina
Australia
New Zealand
Spain
Poland
USA
+ At least 2 more with Season DLC's
+ Dirt Rally locations
Sweden
Monte Carlo
Germany
Greece
Finland
Would give us a total of 13 LOCATIONS, really I dont care about getting the same stages from DR as DLC

Paul said that His wishlist for next location are Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
So Ireland may apeare as Dlc?
