Dirt Rally 2 Proper Group 4 Mk2 RS1800

Recommended Posts

I'm back ! Very pleased indeed to learn of the announcement of DR2. I walked away from DR1 feeling deflated after a failed campaign to include a proper works Group 4 Escort Mk2 RS 1800 and their refusal to include it even after I offered to pay for its remodeling from the hideous Frankenstein hybrid Escort that was included in the Dirt series. I didn't even bother with D4 for this reason. I see the Mk2 Escort is included in the confirmed car list, if it's not the real deal then I wouldn't consider buying DR2 in a boot sale.

• No VR no buy - CHECK
•
No proper works Group 4 Escort Mk2 RS 1800 no buy - CHECK
•
No bumper cam getting wet while going through a river of water no buy - PENDING...
•
No helicopter replay cam like in WRC 2001 (PS2) with ability to maintain the view no buy - PENDING...

Come on, where are the water splash and helicopter cam guys? We need to get these problems addressed once again in approximately 392 new threads and polls or otherwise this doesn't feel like we're waiting for a new DiRT game at all!

There's still over 4 months to go, I'm sure they'll pop up eventually :D

#NoRules2015NoBuy  ;)
Definitely, especially if it follows the original Dirt Rally experience.

  • Body is 14 hash tags too short.
And after DiRT 4's Helicopter cam and Water Splashes, this is the first DiRT Rally 2.0 campaign that goes well
Alright, this was actually more meaningful but still

Well, well, FINALLY ! First impression from the screenie, it looks good,  lets hope they got the sound right, the sound of a BDA / BDG on Webers at full tit reverberating off the hills and trees at 3am on the late 70's & early 80's internationals used to make my cobblers tingle, it will haunt me for the rest of my days, the vid is the best I could find to replicate it, not great footage but the sound is spot on, its a Mk 1 but same engine, same sound, crank it loud on good speakers or headphones and enjoy, the echo at 1.46 is just sick.

Wow! Lovely. I owned 2 Twin Cams and 2 BDAs. My last was an ex-works Boreham RS1600 LVX947J

Memories.

The screenshot of Roger Clark's Cossack car makes the wheel arches look too big.

I thought that too at first but after looking further I think it is mostly due to the angle of the shot. Oh and btw I've read somewhere they have new sound so...

Rallycameraman what more can you share with us on the 1976 Grp 4 Escort RS1800 in DR2,  any more screenies or Video with the new sound ?

The new sound is not in yet and won't be for a while - it's a little way down on the list of things to do. It's coming though.
