There's more issues with the game than there is with giving some of the cars a paint job,
Scr.w you car models have to update. This is a license f1 game. Codies update the car models
So you would rather Codemasters make changing a few liveries more of a priority than fixing bugs and gameplay issues?

It was said before that another Livery/Model update is VERY HIGHLY unlikely.
So the car models and liverys will get update right?

No it means we most likely aren't as the F1 teams have to sign off on it first before it even can be considered. Also they've already signed off on one update they don't want the headache of needing to again just for a few minor tweaks.

I'm not even sure if that's a licensing matter. Knowing how strict some of the teams are, I wouldn't be surprised.

I talked to one of the guys who run the minichamps account on instagram and he told me they wanted to do some photos with the drivers and their car models.

Here you got Ocon and Ericcson:

He also said they also wanted to do the same with Vettel, but Ferrari wouldn't allow it.

Don't care about liveries, MAKE QUALIFYING REALISTIC AGAIN !!!!! This game became unplayable since patch 1.12, impossible to forward time in qualifying sesions, return to box or make a flying lap without A.I. crazy sector times 2 sec faster thant every one else.

That's your prerogative but you have to remember that with this being an officially licensed game by law they have to get the OK from the guys that run the sport before they can make changes like that. I wouldn't be surprised if most officially licensed games have similar restrictions with what they can and can't do without being OK'd first. Plus given those changes were only made in the last couple of races I'm not sure it's going to be worth it.

They should have waited to update the cars until after the season was over instead of wasting the only update on a few minor changes.  I agree though at this point they have bigger concerns than liveries and car models.  Hopefully they'll take some extra QA time next year and release a more polished game to begin with...then they could spend more time updating liveries and car models after they release the game.

I feel like the video game industry as a whole has gone too far in cost cutting methods and need to do more pre release beta testing instead of selling the beta as a finished game then patching the game umpteen times and hoping to get it right before moving on to the next project. I'd rather pay more for a game, say $70 USD, and even maybe wait an extra month for the game to come out to be able to receive a bug free game that works as expected from day one.  Anybody else agree or disagree? Or have any other ideas on how to improve the state of games being released these days.  I sort of miss the days before online patches when the game had to be perfect when it shipped because after you released it there was no way to fix it.

Yeah I do agree with you. I think CM kind of cowed to the people that wanted it earlier in the season because now it's released in August whereas before on the last gen it was released Late September/October so had an extra month or 2 in the oven so to speak and I don't remember seeing quite as many complaints about those games or them being as buggy. Other than the fact some wanted an earlier release date . I guess the saying is true. People should be careful about what they wish for. I only play SP so I don't have any issues with the multiplayer stuff and career and all that runs fine for me so I'm happy just to keep playing.

The problem is that the game was released with models/liveries dating back to Australia-Spain times, since the signing-off procedure takes time, so Codemasters were already in progress of signing off newer models/textures for the next updates (which came a few weeks after the game release).
So we are left with 2 options (since we get only 1 model/texture update per year) - 1) Either we wait until the season ends and then get the final versions of the cars (which means playing with old models/textures for a few months) or 2) Get a model/texture update earlier so that it would be updated at least slightly, but it won't be the final version of the car.

I guess for me it would make the most sense, if they only want to do one update, to wait til the end of the year once all the cars are finialized and get the final interaction and final performance specs

We don't care about liveries, and about you.
More important to fix the bugs.

If they waited until now to update the liveries this forum would have had months of moaning about how they hadn’t been updated at all!
