Suggestion for F1 2019 would be to realise it in Dec & call it F1 2020,
more time for bug fixes, fresh game for the new season,
as am sure am not the only who waits until the last patch & the new season to get into career.

I'll try and keep this short and sweet so that I don't bore anyone:

1) Classic tracks / tracks Codemasters previous has licences on (i.e Turkey, Nurburging, Korea, Valencia etc. Option in career where you can choose to incorporate them and change calendar every season
2) A.I difficulty in respect of car development
3) Slider in respect of development points
4) Slider in respect of how much difference car development makes
5) Speedtrap classification/ live order
6) Gearbox car setup
7) Better car damage
8) More marbles off race line
9) General bug disinfectant

Since we have warm-up laps, why don't we have a cooldown lap after a race? would add a lot of fun to the game. Pcars 2 has this feature too, and I love to celebrate a win, maybe with som' donuts ;)

-VR/Triple support!
-Laser scanned tracks! example last corner at spa its totally out
-Game have to be smooth! Compared to iR without Vsync looks like F1 run at 20FPS
-Different LED display on steering for every team inspired by real LED panels
-After few races in sauber going to Ferrari without problem, really?
-Visible rubber and others impurity out of ideal line during weekend
-Replay highlits after race, and timeline for replay like AC for example
-Usable AA! That TAA its so bad with all that blur and ghosting
-Much more different cutscenes before and after race, looks strange when you see exactly same scene every race.
-Better suspension and tire model! If you focus on F1 esport where everybody play on steering, forget gamepad and focus on steering wheel!

All Codemasters games are one of the most optimized racing games out there. I get much worse FPS on iRacing anyways.

Its not about FPS, i can get 90FPS in F1 and 90FPS in iR and iR looks smooth like vsync compared to F1

I can't see any difference about how "smooth" the games are.

What bothers me more in terms of graphics is the anti aliasing.

Codemasters use TAA since 2015 and it makes textures very blurry during movements. On some tracks I can't read the meter boards when they are vertical and thin. Abu Dhabi even has red ones in turn 1 which makes it even worse.

Been playing F1 Championship edition and toying around with the evolution setup in that game. I don't know why something like that hasn't been implemented with the codemasters games. It's a great way to help the player get more competitive with the AI and it's more directly helpful than forcing the player to blow fresh tyres and practice time earning resource points. (Also a good idea, just don't really like them being tied to practice.)

It would also be nice if there was an option to play past F1 seasons. Kind of an expansion to classic cars. It would really make the game amazing to go back and rewrite some of the older seasons. Something like that feels like it could really give the game a lot of re-playability. Bonus points if you could integrate something like that with career mode as well with the option to start in the past.

A lot of people play leagues.

I think would be great if 2019 give the same support this leagues that give to the trajectory model. Will be more tactical if you need to take care of engines, gearbox, development ...

The only thing to add compared to the trajectory model must be the possibility to add penalties to league admins, because of AI decisions are not as good as must be.

 Things I'd like to see:

1) Driver transfers - it MUST be possible. Imagine Football Manager without transfers?

2) R&D has improved a lot but it's far too easy for the player. The AI need to develop more quickly because I've taken Haas from the midfield to #1 in a season. Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes have barely upgraded their car at all. Why is this? In a 10 season career mode, it should take 10 seasons to complete all the R&D. That is not the case at present.

3) Improved car setups (Nobody in real life would say "the car has a ballast of 8", it makes no sense) and an explanation/tutorial as to what they actually do. Perhaps your engineer can recommend a setup for you?

4) The possibility for the player to experience a mechanical failure, without necessarily having 100% wear ona component. We've seen even brand new engines blow up in F1. If you're in a close championship battle, right now it's a little too easy as the AI will have a few retirements per season.

5) The ability to watch a race in career mode after you crash/retire. Because every time I end up having to simulate a session, the drivers in Mercedes/Ferrari/Red Bull ALWAYS end up at the front, even if we're at Monaco and one of them is running at the back! It's the same if you don't make Q3, you'll notice that even if they have a bad car the usual suspects WILL be on the first few rows. This qualifying glitch needs fixing now really.

6) Contracts should not be signed every four races! In real life you get a deal between 1-3 years, although race-by-race deals have happened in the past. Where did that idea come from? Kinda weird to get a contract offer after Baku!

7) More customization for those of us who don't play on PC, and therefore can't "mod" the game. I'd like to be able to edit a lot more.

1. Less to no Classic Cars and if they have to ignore that and put them in at least put in the 1994 or 95 Benneton.
2. Classic seasons (So pick a year and make the cars/tracks for that season so we can race on Turkey, Magney Cours or somewhere else we can't race now)
3. Fully manual pit entry. (control car to pit box and release to the possibility of unsafe release)
4. Red Flags
5. Customizable helmet designs to allow decals of teams and your race number
6. A better online experience
7. Online career mode/co-op
8. Crashes back on spectator screen....
9. More common mechanical failures (slider would be great for this, as well as a pit-stop error function)
10. Replace Jeff with Andy #AndyKnight2019

Requested features should be extensions of existing features and within reason, because as an FIA sanctioned game, it still has to follow closely the guidelines of the existing sport.  In regards to Classic  tracks - this could be tricky but doable and is a long requested favorite of mines. I disagree that we don't need more track ribbons, we do! As a matter of fact, where F1 track ribbons exist, they should be added to extend the game's real estate in a reasonable fashion. On track I would like to see added to the game and included in all modes is the Nurburgring GP.  Perhaps this could be a consideration for 2019, Codemasters,  as no new tracks are being added for next year.  There are some really cool ribbons for Red Bull Ring, Suzuka International, Spain and Monza (this one especially) and Abu Dhabi.

Well I've said it many times but the prepatch release for PS4 career mode was pretty unreal! I literally came across ZERO bugs until the first patch came along. Genuinely, though worth noting I'm not the type to "find" or "test" for bugs. Just play as intended. Everything worked, SC, VSC, weather system, AI, AI strategies, R&D, quali times!! The lot was perfect!
So maybe no patching in 2019 for any versions not needing it? Or at least more careful patching, not sure how you can fix one thing then break something else, how does the quali times bug even exist when it didn't prepatch?

Anyway that aside, the usual for me would be;
1, classic cars AND circuits.
2. Keep that AI aggressive and rewarding to fight wheel to wheel with. Make me work for all these positions!
3. Don't penalise the start off the grid with multiplayer for assisters. That part is so unnecessary and I have more collisions with slow starters than with anything else! They are too slow!!
4. Reduce penalities offline, I have had 2 stop go times penalties for literally clipping, to the point even with realistic damage there is no damage, taps happen in F1, its rare but no need for penalties for that.
5. F2, F3, Formula-E, Formula Renault, any of these additions would be brilliant, to integrate into a career even better.
BONUS: This should not be an issue, every team have FULL livery! It really bugs me when I race with Williams and the car isn't the same as online. I don't care about the gloves or the steering wheel accuracy. The livery is important. Just make it so there is an age limit restriction option or put up a don't drink and drive notice. For countries that have religious issues just give them a different version for livery. There are so many options to work around this.

Everybody here has given good nice options so I only want 1 thing extra.
Before a race simulation work. There you start testing the setup with you're engineer.
Then in the first free practice you can test it and make it better.

The features i'd really like to see implemented in the next game(s):
  • Showing of speed trap/end of sector speeds in the timing screen
  • Being able to view team mates set up
  • Being able to simulate set up changes
  • Telemetry traces after runs. Drivers get this as soon as they're back in the garage. Literally every racing series use these telemetry data traces. It would really provide greater insight into where gains can be made (not just speed gains but tyre wear etc).
  • Choose the preferred race strategy before Qualy. This is always decided before Q in real life (So the ideal Q2 set is decided upon before the session).
  • AI actually following flags. The AI do not lift for yellow flags and will overtake under yellows with no illegal overtake punishments.
  • More feedback from the engineer - especially in practice (for example, approaching other drivers on a slow/fast lap, where there's too much tyre slip, where time can be found, approach certain corners slower/wider etc)
  • Correct tyre usage rules in Qualy (Currently there are issues with not being allowed to use all inter/wet sets in a wet Qualy)
  • Correct tyre usage rules in practice (Currently there are issues with getting new inters after a wet practice and being allowed to carry over a dry set to P3 if P1/P2 are wet)
  • Better damage simulation
  • White flag. Slow moving cars erroneously trigger a yellow flag (not that it matters - see my above point)
  • Being able to skip from P1 to P2 without going back to the motorhome. It'd be nice to have the option to choose to progress or to go and check out data etc
I guess coming from working trackside in F1 for years, I'm a bit spoilt by all the tech we had. However all of these changes are realistic, there's nothing suggested here that doesn't happen in real life, and I think most would benefit the gameplay massively, so I can't see why they couldn't be implemented.

I don't think they need to avoid patching they just need to patch more effectively. Fix the things you intend to fix and then actually test the patch to see if it breaks anything else.
