Patch Notes for 1.15 - Discussion Thread

Meanwhile in online:

-Desyncing is as bad as it was in F1 2016. For one person, they never touched the other but it will result in an accident.
-Safety Car never comes out and when it does it's because someone manually retired, which is never a safety car in real life (because in game, they always stop near marshalls)
-Pitlane bug. Going for a pitstop all fine and dandy and you get stuck on your pitbox for minutes... Embarrassing for league racing.
So the pitlane glitch has happened to you as well? I know this pain very harshley. @faya this needs to stop and be fixed, forget career mode and offline for a little while and focus on these issues that are hindering League operators and leagues all over.

Hi all,

For those trying out the DX12 Beta, I have updated the original post in the DX12 Beta Discussion Thread in regards to the current DX12 Beta and Patch 1.15.

Hi @@Faya

Can you confirm if A.I Sector time bugs is fixed or not within:
  • Various stability and performance fixes
Thanks
I hope this bug is fixed ...
It's better but not perfect, in monza, only Raïkkonen did a crazy 2nd sector. 1,5 sec faster than everyone.
For the FPS, better too, allways 60 fps, but it still have a fps droping down in the menus . (sedenly from 60 to 10 fps)

So they broke something that was fine and will not or do not know how to fix it then?!

Shouldn't laugh but I have to.

Might have to give F1 2019 a miss until they can fix such things. Seems like we've gone back to F1 2015 these bugs at times.

I wish this had happened in the esports tournament, so they could have been exposed.

Hi all,
  • Various stability and performance fixes

The question of what does this mean has come up a few times. These are usually issues like crashes that we’ve come across while testing, or sometimes it will be the team tweaking and updating something in the background systems to make the game run more smoothly. They are usually things that are small and don’t really need their own call out but should collectively improve the game experience.

Remember, this thread is for talking about the patch and any issues found with the fixes. For all other issues, please use the Technical Assistance forum to report and discuss them.

Any further posts that are not to do with this patch will be removed.

Hi @CavSTiago,

Thanks for letting me know. Would you be able to get a screenshot or a video of the issue/flaw, please?

Compile a list of bugs on your end, especially considering how bad the search function is on here. There should also be a stickied thread of items that you cannot or will not correct due to systems or personnel limitations - People would probably appreciate the honesty.

Look at the shape of the forum. Clean the place up a bit and not just have one person trying to satisfy everyone with "Sorry I don't know anything about the game so I'll pass this off to the devs and you may or may not, ever hear about it again". The way it works now you'll ignore any correspondence on 'touchy' subjects until such point as the community has found a way to pick sides and rip itself into two competing factions in a thread.
Then Codies representative's can ride in on their white horse, close the thread and wield the banhammer.

Meanwhile nothing of substance comes from the initial discussions, which usually begin with fairly simple suggestions to fix complicated issues, before a bad google translation starts WW3.

Some of the above might also help with the "I remember this issue in 10, 11, 12, 12, 14, 15,16, 17 & 18..." problems that seem to crop up a lot.

Great work Bugmasters, I say it in a sarcastic tone. You give users 0 in confidence. Bugmasters has ceased to exist for me.
Okay bye...

I don't think people would actually appreciate the honesty - it's a stick to beat them with if something isn't going to / can't be fixed. There would be multiple issues like this.

I did compile a list from the beta but I gave up tracking them end of September, partially from the inability to replicate or platform issues. Then equally, people are quick to post a moan but don't mark issues as resolved. Many are in game modes I have no desire to test, like career - and in fact maybe can't be replicated as the circumstances of arriving at such a point can't be pre-determined through differing ability levels and choices.

Also, hardware issues can't realistically be tracked unless you can substitute in the hardware. Multiple versions of Windows, drivers, firmware, etc., you get the picture.

Then there is noise, threads get lost amongst too many people posting a question without looking for the answer first.

There are a few excellent posters who really do try to be resourceful and share their findings for all to challenge, build upon or benefit from.

Technical assistance section postings really should be 'form only' to start a thread. Mandatory. Too many people can't post even the slightest level of detail. Any posts that don't meet the criteria or are replicated should be blocked from upload or archived as such (not meeting criteria). This would reduce the amount of threads that need to be monitored and when an issue is resolved in a patch the thread should be locked. Posts that do not add more information, confirm the problem exists on a wider level (different platform, different hardware) or suggest how it can be mitigated, solved, etc. can and should be removed.

Unfortunately, I also think that submissions that are not in English may also be removed. Google translated responses should also be edited by an English speaker and translations should then be possible to other languages.

Just my opinion.

Excellent post and I also agree with Faya. Have mentioned this before but the best way to get a resume of ongoing issues is to read the forum after a release note. Only seldom that you see an actual report on fixed issues.

The game gets very "Screen tearing", that could not happen because if I limit the fps of the game through another program like Nvidia Inspector, it gets 60 fps locked, and the image does not stay tearing

I'm not surprised people break the forum rules (most of the time it's there fault but recently over the last few years I'm not surprised in the slightest due to the lack of honesty from the admin's)

I like to know is why on online the safety car does not deploy properly. After an accident on the circuit You guy's change it in the development cycle for 2017 I repeat 2017.

https://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/comment/315215#Comment_315215

After it was broken before in 2016 because it deployed too often after somebody left the session. At this point it only deploys if somebody goes off the track deliberately onto the grass to let lapped cars through. It was a disaster the first time and the same is happening all over again with no credible solutions. In a democratic way of asking, What solution's will you pass onto your superiors? telling them the team is under staffed under constant pressure with no time to solve issues or given the tools they need to make an actual working game if there is such a thing these days?

"Fixed issue where teams would value showmanship and sportsmanship incorrectly in contract negotiations"

Of course when my team was flipped I started choosing showmanship options because of the bug and now that it's fixed I've effectively moved in the wrong direction which was the correct direction before which...

Man this game just depresses me. Why was that bug present so long?

I can only assume that the pitlane bug at Russia is still present. (You get a corner cut penalty if you use the pit lane entrance to... pit)  It was as of 1.14 and it wasn't in the changelog. It's inexcusable that bugs like this remain in the game and in some cases remain in them so long. These aren't obscure bugs... they're obvious ones that obviously effect the game experience.

I see complaints about the safety car and in a way it's a good thing that they don't get deployed more often because if you're using inner carcasses the tyres will be cold as ice on restart. (While the AI will get on as if they have perfect nice warm tyres.) It's just all so fundamentally broken it's depressing.

I've tried with this game... I really have.

I haven't bothered racing with safety car on since 2016 - AI do not adjust their strategy and you end up with a false finishing position because cars wait to pit when queuing behind the SC and fall to the back of the field.

So can we now actually get the safety car out sometimes.. Now 3 seasons without it...

Probably not working great and in need of some tweaking, but it's there. Let's hope codies did some work on this.

Safety car has always been an issue with F1 games from CM. They never fixed it and never will. Unless they change the game engine then we can get our hopes up!
