tMansell 0 Posted April 30, 2014 Hi guys!A guess: Next May 1st will complete exactly 20 years that Senna passed away.Someone besides me believe that maybe Codemasters will announce F1 2014 - Senna Special Edition? Last year, reading some interviews with Paul Jeal and Steve Hood, they said they would like to put Senna´s cars on F1 2013 but due to license issues it was not possible, but "we´re trying".Would be perfect timming to announce the game with all the cars of Senna´s carreer. What do you guys think?I can imagine some scenarios, like remake the "best first lap in history" or loosing the gears on the final laps of Interlagos and trying to win the race with Patrese getting closer", win in Monaco driving a Toleman...try to finally win a race driving the Williams-Renault car...many possibilities!!Would be awesome!!! R4pp3r 5 Posted April 30, 2014 Unlikely if I remember correctly codies tries to get the licence for Senna last year to put him in the game and couldn't do so (not sure of reason) so me personally I can't see it but hey it's a possibility if u wanna believe it :)
Alex475 0 Posted April 30, 2014 That would be awesome, F1 2014 Senna Edition, even the title sounds cool. It would be a great tribute, I would actually love to play a classic championship like a 1988 or 1991, between 85 to 93 F1 had the most cool looking cars
FS7 0 Posted April 30, 2014 Unlikely.Afaik PD got permission to use Senna content in GT6, but knowing how PD is slow to work and their lack of vision IF they ever release any Senna content it will probably be something just as unremarkable as their use of the Top Gear track, Nascar, WRC, F1 Ferrari cars, etc.
tMansell 0 Posted April 30, 2014 Well...when asked about Senna in F1 2013, Codies said:Paul Jeal: "(...)We want the “classic” content to be a staple of all of our games going forward and we think we can do something very specific around a name as strong as Senna. We’re fans of the sport as well and we love him so we really want to get him involved and we hope to do that in the future."My guess is because what time is better to release a Senna Edition of the game than 1st next-gen F1 game and 20th anniversary of his death?Would be a perfect combination...At least, here in Brazil, all the media is making special stuff about Senna...maybe is just here, but...as I said, is just a guess... scottishwildcat 187 Posted April 30, 2014 Yeah, I doubt it too. Licensing issues aside, I can’t see them wanting to announce two driving games within a couple of weeks of each other. *Very* best we could hope for might be a 2013 add-on, but that doesn’t sound very likely to me either. tMansell 0 Posted April 30, 2014 For sure I would like a lot to play a brand new next-gen Ayrton Senna´s Super Monaco GP 3!!!!!! :D but I don´t think would be a single game...Would just be a F1 2014 but with Senna in the classic content and some scenarios based on him... maybe some promotion using his name...a game cover...a special box with some stuff related to him... Irishnewblood 0 Posted April 30, 2014 Would absolutely love it to happen and would pre-order it now, But just can't see it happening to be honest. There seems to be a lot of red tape around using Senna in games and fs7 you're exactly right pd mess up everything they get their hands on and I'm hoping for once (when it actually arrives or IF it arrives) that this will be a great tribute to the man....It's hard to believe it was 20 years ago though, I remember watching it when i was 9 live and being incredibly upset when the news came through, very very sad day for sport in general. tMansell 0 Posted April 30, 2014 On this interview for the brazilian press, last year, when asked about why Ayrton Senna was not on F1 2013, BRUNO SENNA, said:Bruno Senna: - "..even though for this year could not happen, I believe that for next year, completing 20 years of the death of Ayrton, they gonna do something special."Let´s remember that Bruno is Viviane Senna´s son and Viviane Senna (Ayrton´s sister) is the president of the Ayrton Senna Institute, wich is the one who regulates and sign these kind of agreements...so...if he said so....Here´s the link: http://www.techtudo.com.br/noticias/noticia/2013/10/gran-turismo-6-bruno-senna-vence-corrida-contra-produtor-do-game-na-bgs2013.html(the news are in portuguese)

Let's not forget Roland Ratzenberger died 20 years ago today too, on the Saturday, and Rubens Barichello's horrific accident on the Friday, which in some ways is the worst of them all to watch at full speed, could easily have killed him on another day as well. And with the debris from the Lamy/Lehto collision flying into the crowd and injuring people right at the start of the race, and tyres from Alboreto's Minardi flying round the pit lane and injuring mechanics later on, it was just one catastrophe after another. tMansell 0 Posted April 30, 2014 would be a very nice touch if they could include Ratzenberger car on classic mode also as a tribute..RIP Roland Ratzenberger..I remember was watching and was pretty shocking to see his legs almost out of the car...
Restricted 1 Posted May 1, 2014 leviculus said: God I hope not. So sick of the fanboy adulation. All it would be is a name and helmet anyway, wow. There are better things to spend money on. Exactly. I would rather see them focussing on suggestions that really contribute to the game. Don't forget that it's called 2014 - and not ancient edition or something - for a reason. Hatta 0 Posted May 1, 2014 Nothing planned (game related) for today. Sorry guys.
tMansell 0 Posted May 2, 2014 ok..but I doubt that our friend Hatta will come here and denied that they're preparing something special envolving Senna for F1 2014!! (yes,it's a trap!) ;)
blackMamba99 0 Posted May 4, 2014 wouldn't bother me either way if he was in the next game or not. if there is a tribute to him there must also be a tribute to roland ratzenberger, unlike at the circuit-DISGRACE
tMansell 0 Posted May 5, 2014 Well, a tribute to Senna wouldn't be because he died but because he's a legend of motorsport. As a human , either Ratzemberger or Senna deserve all respect, but as racing driver I see a point in a game based on Senna,Fangio,Schumacher,Prost,Piquet,Lauda,Mansell etc, but not in Roland Ratzemberger..don't take me wrong, but the fact the both died racing don't change the status they have strictly as a racing driver...IMO
blackMamba99 0 Posted May 7, 2014 I only meant that maybe his car should be in the game or his helmet, a nice tribute don't you think. of course im not saying call it F1 2014 Roland Ratzenberger edition that would be silly, a nice tribute in the game would be nice as its a special anniversary for lots of reasons. tMansell 0 Posted May 7, 2014 For sure! We could have his helmet and his Simtek car playable as classic content...I would like a lot to drive some other cars..like a 93' Benneton or the world champion Brawn GP...but first, please, the 90s McLarens!!!!:)
Socklicker 0 Posted May 9, 2014 What is the situation regarding Senna and McLaren F1 cars? I would appreciate some feedback from Codemasters, please.Last year you mentioned that another developer had an agreement with McLaren for their formula cars, I assume this was Simraceway or Polyphony Digital? Can you tell us any thing about the length of this deal or who it was with from your negotiations? In 2011 Simraceway signed an apparent exclusive agreement for all McLaren cars, but it didn't mention if it covered just the PC platform or all gaming devices? That deal is due to end in 2015 if we go by their car list, the final car in it is the McLaren-Honda MP4-30.Now on to the man himself, you said you could not get Senna because a developer in Brazil (Reiza) had an agreement in place, but months later Polyphony Digital announce their Senna partnership which resulted in two products in development with Senna Institute involvement, so what really stopped you guys from including him in F1 2013 - it couldn't have been an exclusive agreement as that would be a flat out lie. VirtuaIceMan 92 Posted May 9, 2014 I think Senna is more complicated; you have to prove to the Senna Foundation that your idea has merit and is worthwhile, etc.I didn't know McLaren were licensed up to 2015 with SimRaceWay.Perhaps Codemasters should look to license some other teams, like Benetton/Renault and Jordan, as both have interesting/important cars from the (recent) past.Or go "full history" and license a car from each decade of the sport, that'd be interesting! Socklicker 0 Posted May 9, 2014 The original PR for the McLaren / Simraceway tie up stated that their agreement granted them exclusive use of all their formula cars, but then Forza 5 was released with the McLaren M23, so the deal must be PC platform exclusive?I hope Codemasters can shed some light on the situation. blackMamba99 0 Posted May 9, 2014 i'd also like some cars from 1999 to 2009, the brawn gp would be cool as the previous post mentioned, the 2000 Ferrari, 2005 Renault would also be cool. or go even further back to fangio's era. or some of jim clark , Jackie stewart's cars
FS7 0 Posted May 9, 2014 I'm sure there are people who will disagree with me, but I'd rather have more classic tracks than having more classic cars. CM could start by having all tracks from previous CM F1 games in F1 2014 (Nurburgring, India, Korea, Valencia, Istanbul, Jerez, Imola, Brands Hatch, Estoril). Then they could add more tracks like Donington, Fuji, Magny-Cours, Indianapolis, Nordschleife, Kyalami, Adelaide, Detroit, Okayama, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Zandvoort, Zolder, Paul Ricard, and so forth. To me having more tracks would add a lot of replay value to the game, and I'd imagine tracks are easier & cheaper to license than cars & drivers.
