ShodanCat 231 Posted January 27, 2019 @cmsoundfx I love the sound design and engineering that has gone into the DiRT series, and so far DR2.0 looks to continue that trend. One thing I noticed though is that some cars with really prominent turbo sounds in real life (probably the best example I can think of in DR2.0 is the Audi S1) have very little actual turbo noise when it "spools" or spins up to build boost. All I can really hear in terms of engine and turbo sounds is the blow off valve. That part sounds great, but IMO we should really hear some of that spooling sound too. Some of the newer rally cars in the lower spec tiers that have tiny displacement engines with small turbos may be nearly inaudible (especially to the driver through headgear and everything) but something like the S1, it's definitely audible.Anyway, it's just a little piece of feedback. Again I love the sound design and I think it's as good as it gets in the realm of racing sims, just something IMHO could be improved. Riggs 1,668 Posted January 27, 2019 Indeed, but when I watched the video with the Subaru Impreza 95, you can actually hear these turbo sounds more often than in DiRT Rally 1, so they definitely did an improvement there.
Mattshadow29 0 Posted February 1 Since people are wondering they could have louder turbo/supercharger sounds, I was wondering if there is a way to turn off those sounds? A high pitched whining sound is obnoxious to some but lovely to others. If it's not a feature, then please make a switch in the settings to turn it off. Rogerbee 87 Posted February 2 I always think the ones for the Evo 6 sound like someone being beaten up.
