I'm trying to figure out if I want to know about this surprise or not 😁 Also our birthdays are really close to each other! ...though I'm probably not going to get any surprises 👀

Guessed so 😛

25th! I know this is public and such, but I guess no one is going to bother me even if I mention my birthday. Currently we are the only two speaking in this thread anyways. We need to start an advertisement campaign or something 😁

Let's start with @BarryBL. Have you ever been here? You're objectively the worse Developer Liaison if you don't reply here at least once xP

Haha I'm not really with you.

But I've also just hit the big 30. In lockdown. I have a football shirt collection which is a passion of mine, so adding the PSG x Jordan 4th shirt was good. I'm up to over 50 now, so its looking nice in the collection. I do raise a counter argument @KittyFit90 about birthdays in lockdown. Because you can't technically celebrate it 'by design' you should have 2 birthdays. One for your actual day, and the second for when your plans happened.

Once lockdown is over and I can see my friends again (we've been friends forever), a boys weekend away is all the celebration I'll need haha

I think the exact issue with this place is that no one new has any clue what people have been talking about here since 2014 (and even before that).

About birthdays, I did buy myself something, but I guess I have to do that 'two birthday strategy' 😁

My 62nd birthday is coming up. I've left enough hints for my wife to get me F1 2020 for the Xbox One. I'll be gutted if she buys that  1958 Gibson Les Paul guitar.

@BarryBLMy part of the world, South Australia is effectively out of lockdown. The last non repatriated (aussies living in the UK coming home) case of Covid 19 we had was in March! I've been back at work for nearly 3 weeks now with face to face teaching and contact. My birthday celebration was everything I wanted to do and non of it was restricted in the slightest:classic_biggrin: Sucks to be English right now....(ok it sucks to be English full stop but nm:classic_tongue:)

Les Paul guitars ❤

I imagine you would be devestated if you did get your Gibson 😁

Ahh...safety...:classic_love:

Just dropped the gender discrimination bomb in the race 'discussion' going on over the Mercedes BLM livery thread. Some real closet racists on this forum, lets see if they are as equally sexist (my experiences says that most racists are even more sexist!), this is why I went into the sciences...a lot of people are very weird and not very nice...gimmie bones and fossils any day!

Everything that Prawn said plus it's gonna take me some time to get used to the interface. Not really bothered with the badges though but thank God the stupid kudos system has been removed.

Yeah I'd say random reaction images to old stuff doesn't really promote conversation, so let's try and steer away from those 🙂

OMG, today is my 12th anniversary between me and my missus. I got married just under a month after my 18th birthday and despite a nearly year long separated period (which we don't talk about) its been a good 12 years, who knows maybe we will last as long as my parents have (59 years!!!). Love you Megan:classic_love:

On a different topic, I've finished all my semester 1 marking, so I have 2 weeks break now before semester 2. F1 2020 here I come!

Congratulations for your 12th anniversary KittyFit90.  I hope that there are many more to follow. My second anniversary is coming up in September. Second partner..... I'm from Yorkshire and she's from Lancashire! War of the Roses it isn't though (most of the time anyway). I was married to my first wife for nearly 35 years before she was taken from me. Never thought I'd be romantically involved again.......but Cupid had other ideas!!! Live....love.....respect each other. And let us know how you find F1 2020.

Thanks mate 🙂 Our marriage gets very bitchy at times, I'm a bit of an oddball (autistic) and shes a moody cow sometimes, add that to it being 2 women and viola mega bitchiness lol But I could not imagine life without her:classic_love:

F1 2020 has wonderful handling and good race ai but there are some issues with ai driver moves, my team management and some general instability issues.

Oh Yippee!!!!

My university has given the go ahead for a small numbers field school for 2nd semester, my boss has asked me to teach it with one of my male colleagues as an assistant. We're not allowed to hold it in the caves we normally use so we're going for a smaller site which hasn't been touched in a while and I haven't been to. So later this week I'm going up there to check it out and work out some logistics... so exciting even if it means I don't get my break as I have to design some assessment for it and get all the organizing done!!!:classic_biggrin:

All packed and ready to go first thing tomorrow morning. Got a 6 hour drive to reach the fossil site, its a granite extrusion (a monolith like Uluru) near Wudinna on the Eyre Highway (thats the 2,500km road that connects Adelaide to Perth), that has weathered exposing a fossil layer in the basalt dating to roughly 80 million ya. Gotta assess the site and decide where the students can work safely and learn something (ie a place where they will actually find some reasonably intact and informative fossils), also got to sort accommodation, food availability etc etc.

Holy hell, what a place...its like a mini Uluru, even the same colour. Though one issue the fossil bed is fenced off and nobody thought to give me a key...luckily someone from the local council will meet me there tomorrow and open the lock...cept he has to drive all the way from Pt Lincoln which is 200km away! What a kerfuffle LOL:classic_biggrin: The accommodation isn't bad, nice roadside motel and there's a pub just down the street, gonna try it out tonight...also have to check out the supermarket to see if its up to scratch, apparently its tiny, this town is only 50 or so people and the nearest bigger place is Pt Augusta which is 150km away so it will have to do I guess.

Spent the day cleaning up rubbish/debris around the fossil bed, had a look under the tarp covering it and...well I can tell it hasn't been worked on since the early 90s and I can tell nobody currently in the department has been there...80 mya my eye lol, first thing I saw was the outline of a small mammalian rodent which appeared after K-Pg, 50 mya at the most:classic_biggrin: Doesn't look that rich but there a few visible fragments which will be worth a look at for students, so just need to design an assessment, put together some learning materials and then stick the topic up for students to enrol in.:classic_tongue:
