Moderator MBKF1 Posted February 16, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 16, 2016 Sounds really good, I hadn't really looked into it but it sounds pretty sweet. I can plug my phone into my car, but honestly I just listen to the radio when I'm driving so only use it to charge it up.Yes I have! Only thing is I have a black box on my car for the insurance, so it monitors my speed / acceleration / braking, so if I drive smoother it's cheaper. It's a bit annoying when I want to put my foot down a bit, like in those situations, but I don't mind as it's cheaper aha.Doesn't happen often, but the thing that pisses me off the most is when I'm doing the limit and some douche just motors past. This happened the other day, doing 30mph, but I ended up getting back ahead of him in the end, because firstly he didn't manage to beat the first set of traffic lights, so I was right up with him again. Then the road split into two lanes, I chose the right, got ahead of him as he was stuck in some slow traffic on the left, and then it went down to one lane again, so ended up about 3 cars ahead of him lolWally. RevolvingPrawn
Haha yea I get you on that. Tbh, most of the time I'm either listening to the radio or the GotG soundtrack. All those goofy features and I don't really use em :p I've had a look at those deals before with the black boxes, I actually found normal insurance that would have been cheaper for me without the black box :p Really though, it's kinda good I guess because it'll keep you from the bad habits you can get into lol. Putting your foot down now and then can be fun, but on normal roads you really don't need to anyway. Only time I've found it's useful is going up steep parts of motorway :p Haha yep, been in that situation a bunch of times. Last time it happened I was doing 60 on a road where the limit really shouldn't be 60, when some douche comes flying up behind me, doesn't bother to slow down just goes straight for the overtake, doesn't seem to care that there's a blind corner right up ahead, and goes right past doing probably close to 90. I slowed down as soon as he was on the wrong side, no way I wanna get involved in any potential wreck an idiot like that causes! I end up right on his bumper about 8 miles later when he's pulling into a car park haha. The thing that made me furious with him was seeing a baby strapped in the back of his car. I feel sorry for his kid if their dad is willing to take such magnificently stupid risks with his childs life.

Yeah it is actually pretty handy having one for now, I'm not tempted at all to break any limits or anything, just because I know it'll raise up the price. But yeah, bloody annoying, and that infuriates me with kids in the back. It's better to get somewhere a couple of minutes later and in one piece than to not get there at all and with potential injuries.Fortunately, all my best mates drive very sensibly and I feel very relaxed when they're driving me about (although I do prefer it when I drive, just because I trust my own ability :p), but the worst is one of their Dad's. I am seriously bricking it when I'm in a car with him. It's weird, because he drives quite slowly around corners, but if there's a long straight bit then you know he's gonna be moving along at quite a rate. When I go to the pub with my mates he sometimes picks us up, and on the way is this 50mph straight road (where might I add, many people have been killed in the past), but he usually reaches about 80mph. It's bloody terrifying, and my mate will usually say to him 'oh come on Dad, you don't need to do this'.I specifically try and sit in the seat behind him, so I can't see the speedo. When I can see it my eyes are glued to it, but I'd rather just sit there and deal with it :p

He's not the biggest idiot I've experienced on the road, but he's definitely the worst father! Hah! You're lucky then dude, my best mate drives a Ford Ka that would be more at home in a scrapyard than on the road. The trouble is that because he doesn't really care about the car he absolutely rags it, and sitting in his passenger seat can often be a not so fun experience!Haha, I know how you feel on that one dude, one of my old mates was a boy racer type with a Ford Escort, he picked me up from a night club a few years ago and on that same stretch of road I mentioned yesterday, the 60mph road, he got up to 120 lol. I was drunk so to me it was hilarious, but yea, I look back now and think it was pretty damn stupid lol.

And yes, drunk me can find it absolutely exhilarating going at those sort of speeds but in reality it is so stupid.I'm just pleased I've got through my first year of driving without having any incidents or speeding fines, etc. I know the stats say it's very likely for a driver to have some sort of incident in their first year but touch wood, I haven't had one yet.The thing to worry about is other people, it's best to treat everyone like an absolute idiot, because you have no idea what stupid thing they could do. I don't do sunts in my chair I'm too reliant on it as effectively it's my legs and means to get around. The wheels came off as mum was getting it out of the car and wouldn't reattach. Giggyilly
This is all interesting stuff. I am new to this forum so cannot compare it to how it was in the past, however to me it does compare favourbaly with many other forums. Most use the same system, which seem to me quite soleless. Those who run them should ask for more feedback i think, as it can be extremely hard for a developer or designer to really get an idea of what will work will be popular. I am currenlty building an ecommerce site with magento hosting from 1&1 and from chat function to log-in to payment pages, no matter how often we have used such sites ourselves before, it can so tricky to really know what UX will work best. I guess it is mostly simply a matter of trial and error.
