JorritVD 1,259 Posted October 29, 2019 Ok, instead of Hockenheim or Estering... Germany gets a new RX location. At least for @PJTierney and the DiRT team, they can use a track from the F1 games again as a base.
RichWard25 22 Posted October 29, 2019 I wander how similar it will be to the original track they used for the Internations Cup in the early 90’s.
MattyH1812 349 Posted October 29, 2019 Well RIP Estering I guess 😞
JorritVD 1,259 Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) In that post from Fia WRX, they reacted tomorrow the 2020 scheduele will be announced. Btw, before also have been 2 German tracks in the same year with Hockenheim and Estering. Also locationwise it is a bit odd to have both Spa and Nurburgring. They are pretty close together. Might Spa not return than? Edited October 29, 2019 by JorritVD
PJTierney 5,036 Posted October 29, 2019 Ooh Nurb. A bunch of my friends made their own fantasy Nurburgring RX track, it skips the final chicane by turning left and going over a massive grass jump 😄

ianism 1,317 Posted October 29, 2019 yeah, Spa was a very nice surprise I guess we'll have to wait till we see the races at Nurburgring to determine whether it's a good track for spectating (either in person on not). these F1 tracks have been pretty hit or miss. PJTierney 5,036 Posted October 29, 2019 Thoughts on which layout they may use? I suspect they'll use the hairpin and Michael-Schumacher S sections as there are many grandstands down that way, and potentially use the 2 short circuit's roads as Jokers.

tbtstt 2,416 Posted October 30, 2019 Well at least they have gone somewhere with some rallycross history this time. Going to be interesting to see the full calendar today, lot of rumours flying around about certain 2019 circuits getting the cut, I wonder which ones will make it?...
JorritVD 1,259 Posted October 30, 2019 If it is that historic RX lay-out, than it could be something well. But it also needs a proper joker and an other problem is that the paddock is quite far away, which is not really suitable for the fans to walk from one side to the other side of the track. My guess it will also be a that S chicane what PJT mentioned, or the use of the Arena section at the end of the start finish straight, which will give a good view for the fans and there is a tunnel to the paddock. I will be interested how 2020 looks like and how that will be planned with Projekt E and ERX

Yeah it's going to be interesting! Will definitely get to this event, revisit the old circuit too. Love this part of Germany. 🙂

Perhaps, but it wouldn't surprise me if they used the loop, plenty of space for a paddock, parking infrastructure + access roads. I'd bet they want to use those F1 facilities though, like you said. Turns 1-2 would be perfect for this.

MattyH1812 349 Posted October 30, 2019 Huh, no UK or North America events... You'd assume Round 6 would be Canada right? Based on its position in recent years
MattyH1812 349 Posted October 30, 2019 Round 9 is a European event because it has the green star for Euro RX next to it Isn't Super1600 part of EuroRX as well which would made Round 6 an event in Europe too
tbtstt 2,416 Posted October 30, 2019 Looks like the rumours about Silverstone may be true. That's a very disappointing calendar; no Euros at Barcelona again, no UK round and a "full" calendar with two empty slots in it.
