I think the reviewer are talking about the historic championships which are in freeplay

Yes I realise that but wondering if all those championships are also available in career (my preferred play style) 👌

Correct, Historic Championships are in Free Play.

You start with Historic H3/H2 and if you get a Top 3 finish you can start taking part in Championships in higher categories.

All of the cars are "rentals" as you are driving for somebody else's team.

From what I can tell, you can run any Championship in My Team assuming you own a car for that Class, so if you buy a Group B car from the Classifieds you can run a Group B Championship, complete with your car upgrades and engineering team.

That’s great 🙂

I get what both you and the reviewer meant regarding anything in career being available in free play. Nevertheless I understand why they have taken this approach.

There are two types of gamer.... those who wish access to all vehicles out of the box and those who wish to unlock vehicles through progress. I belong to the latter. I like the approach they have gone for as it suits all. I will only use vehicles in free play that I have also bought and upgraded in career. May seem strange but it suits my sense of car ownership in the game.

Yup, it must be a hard balance to strike. I've seen games that go super strict in terms of unlocks and some that throw every car at you early on.

Ultimately, the driving in DiRT Rally 2.0 feels so good that the career structure isn't a concern for me :classic_happy:

Agreed. My love of Forza games went a bit downhill when owning vehicles became too easy....... but I guess with several hundred cars it was the sensible approach. I love the slog for each vehicle in Dirt Rally 1
