No Force feedback Dirt Rally 2.0

I just bought Dirt Rally 2.0 and i have no force feedback at all, i play with a G29 logitech on a Ps4 Pro. I moved every slider to 150 and then i have a litte bit more feedback, but you don't feel bumps or the road. it's like you drive with a normal car on a normal way. You have a lot more feedback in Dirt rally 1...

Is this a bug?

I have a bit the same thing! 

it works not so bad in curves etc...the efforts are well but the steering is really calm in a normal way...why not on asphalt but on gravel it's really surprising. I can feel a little noise when just touch the wheel, but really little!

Same.  Seems the steering forces are there but there's no road texture to speak of, gravel feels as buttery smooth as the tarmac which is off putting.  Also my 'tyre slip' and 'engine' settings from the force feedback menu are grayed out and cannot be modified.

Using a TS-PC racer on PC.

Hmmmm....same here. Damn shame, the rest of the game is utterly fantastic minus this oversight in the FFB department. Can feel plenty of steering force as well as suspension loading but no road feel/texture coming through the wheel regardless of road type. Very "numb" road detail feel compared to what I experienced in DiRT Rally.

For the record I'm on Xbox One using a Fanatec v2.5 base, CSL Elite P1 wheel with CSL Elite LC pedals.

I am using the thrustmaster TX limited and having the same issues. Sometimes the dirt feels ok but when you get on pavement it feels like the car is just floating. No road feel at all.

Also why cant i reprogram where the pause button is? It is on the one i would use to ebrake and its really messing me up

I wonder what beta testers where doing that they didn't discovered that the stereeing wheels don't have proper force feedback. The wheel feels like driving on flat road when there is a lot of bumps and other stuff on the road.

The temporary fix is pretty easy.

Open "..\Steam\SteamApps\common\DiRT Rally 2.0\input\devices\device_defines.xml" with any kind of text editor. (Needless to say to make a backup first!)

It should look like this (starting at line 77):

Save the file.

Start up Dirt Rally 2.0 and go to the FFB Options!

You need to lower "Self Aligning Torque"!! Otherwise your wheel will start to clip!! The "Self Aligning Torque" will override all other forces. I have mine at 10 with this workaround. 
"Steering Center Force Enabled" I have set to off.

Alter the other FFB parameters to your liking.

I have attached an edited device_defines.xml to this post.
BUT: I don't know if the numbers are the right ones for every wheel.
Try it, alter it to your liking and give feedback.

No to Codemaster:
@ChristinaMc Still not understandable for me why you haven't turned to the Early Access program as you did with DR1! I remember there was a similar FFB problem discovered in EA and you managed to get really good FFB way before the official launch. And wondering how this could slip through QA.

have no clue what the difference would be between

and

Is this a bug?

Hi, the same problem I have with the Thrustmaster T300RS. No matter how high or low you set, there is no real feeling for the vehicle! Does anyone already have a setting?

Same here! I'm using T300 on PS4 and the FFB is very disappointing. With default settings it was very very stiff, had to tone it down alot. Dropped wheel friction and centering force completely, tire friction way down and self aligning torque to 50, suspension to max.

Now it feels playable but the road feedback is almost minimal and the steering feels just oddly stiff and numb. Not getting the kind of feedback from bumps, slides, ruts, etc that you would expect. Going offroad and collisions seem to work how they are supposed to, it's the road/steering feedback that's completely lacking.

Can't believe they managed to mess this up. I hope it gets fixed ASAP!

Good morning, I've tried the setting, is a little better, but not perfect for the T300.

I played around with the settings more and now i think it's close to as good as it can be. Still very minimal road feel, absolutely none going over curbs for example. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. 

 

PS4 + T300:

Self aligning torque 50

Wheel friction 0

Tyre friction 125

Suspension 150

Collision 85

Soft lock 100

Steering centre force 3

Btw, why am I not able to change tyre slip and engine values? They are locked at 100. It seems like being able to adjust tyre slip could have a big effect. Perhaps they know it's not quite working and locked it for future patch? 

Default values are all rubbish and there's alot of work to be done here with overall feel, so definitely not what I was expecting. Great game otherwise so it's quite unfortunate.
