The Escort now has the correct "solid" back axle. You can't adjust rear camber or toe on the real version either, so probably not a bug.

Hello dear Codemasters team. Dirt Rally 2.0 is really a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I think on the Playstation 4 Pro with the Thrustmaster T300 a few things not so good. First, the FFB is too weak and offers too few effects. I know that's already a big topic. The second criticism of my page is the "washed-out graphics". The environment and the speedometer are too blurred. Maybe there is still a sharpness controller in the graphics menu install. We look forward to receiving updates and bugfixes soon. Greetings from Germany

This looks worse on the TV (Samsung 4k UHD).

Same with me. The whole picture looks too blurred.

i found this in historic championship.............. car is rwd  but setting are   fwd 😄 😄  😄

Dirt Rally 2 Screenshot 2019.02.24 - 10.38.05.94.png

edit : the car in question is escort mk2, but maybe also other?

That particular setting has to do with the wheel alignment. You turn with the front wheels not the back, so it's correct. As far as I know the Escort MK2 has a solid back axle which prevents you to adjust rear wheel toe or camber.

Check the differential tab and you'll see it's all about RWD.

Another crash, after completing the Group B Daily AI challenge, report sent. The game just froze when the engine mapping graph was filling up, while the car was still on the podium and then the game decided it was enough and prompted to a crash dialog.

Also, Print Screen isn't working. It just gets a black screen.

EDIT: New crash, this time mid-stage on Weekly AI Challenge. But this time the whole computer just froze, the sound went freezing and then silent. No bluescreen, but required a hard reset. Not sure if this was caused by my PC (this only happen 3-4 times in its 6 years lifespan).

After checking Windows Event Viewer, apparently seconds before the crash the nvidia driver (nvlddmkm) stopped responding and recovered. My driver version is the latest, 419.17 and I'm running a GTX 770 2GB Asus DC II

Immediately after there were 2 errors related to DistributedCOM. The error is related to lack of permission. Could this be related to RaceNet?

EDIT 2: New crash, after the second stage of this same event. I went through the stage results and pressed Continue, it froze and crashed on the loading screen where i was supposed to go the service area. It's got to a point where I can't finish a stage without a crash.

ok, but on dirtrally1  i was able to change settings on rear axle, maybe that was wrong 🤔

@ChristinaMc Hey Codies! Found some bugs i think and i have some questions.

1) I already see the Citroen C4 and Skoda Fabia Rally 2005 in the game and the standings, is this normal? (I can't drive them, which is normal)

338255921_Schermafbeelding2019-02-24om15_21_52.thumb.png.1227d6be688fe734bf5e7501f7f844fb.png

2) Is it possible that you see the split times from the fastest driver instead of the Class Leader? it's confusing sometimes, you think that you won the stage but you are just faster than the class leader.

3) Is it possible to add the difference between the times? It's quit disturbing that people have to calculate the differences in the overall standings.

3) Last Question: Is hardcore damage coming to career mode?

Thanks!

The Escort in Dirt Rally 1 had IRS (based on Phil Collins car ?) so it would be possible to change these settings, but the Escort in Dirt 2.0 has a live axle, the mechanicals are encased within a solid hollow beam, so Toe and Camber are not normally adjustable.

In Dirt Rally 1 the Opel Manta and Kadett were modeled on IRS platforms, when they should really have been live axle cars with no Toe or Camber adjustments.

I had to stop playing because I had another freeze and the computer just restarted. Don't know what's going on.

I noticed two little things. The windscreen wiper is also automatic when the automatic is disabled. The water effects when driving through deep puddles are missing completely. In Dirt Rally 1 the whole windscreen was wet.

I’ve noticed a few things in the game that were odd. Not sure if anyone else posted yet, but:

First, no rain effects really appear on the windshield. The wipers will be going and mud and stuff will accumulate on the sides, but nothing really appears ahead of me. The windshield wipers are either REALLY good or the rain effects haven’t quite been generated correctly

Second, ongoing connectivity issues with RaceNet. Makes the career mode pretty frustrating. Enough said.

Third, the audio went out completely near the end of one of my career races at NZ. Driving along and I heard a little pop, and no sound. No co-driver calls. The engine revving like crazy but I couldn’t hear it. Turned off and on my tv to make sure it wasn’t it, but the sound eventually comes back after I finished the stage.

Fourth, graphics still a little subpar compared to the other titles. Interiors not quite sharp. Cars aren’t DiRTy after races like in previous titles. Kind of takes away from the overall immersion.

Fifth, racing the H2 VW GTi in career, I’m listed as third in a stage, going against the Up to 2000cc class. Uhhh, I’m a good driver but I don’t think that’d really ever be possible. And unless I’m mistaken, the Up to 2000cc class isn’t even in the game yet.

Maybe already reported, but some parts of the NZ stages look very dark with the cloudy / rainy mood, and front light doesn't work. Maybe because it's mid day and not evening, but we still need to see something !

It's not only NZ, that darkness also appears on every track with thick forest sections with many shadows. It's OK that it's dark in the shadows but it's black as night in those sections at daytime. It's even darker in cockpit view. I had a race in Poland, start time 2pm, weather cloudy and it was as dark as it was about 9pm.

Please remove the AI from multiplayer its annoying, and it could be possible in a near future to add more players than the limit of 8? Also can we do some Shakedown runs while we are waiting in the lobby when you enter late into a session and they are already playing? 🙂

I was just about to report the same thing about Poland and others. It feels like there are no daytime stages in game when in reality the majority of most rallies are in day, but I realise that it seems to be picking sunset and dusk stages at the wrong times - at 4pm in Poland I'm getting dusk.

One other one which I imagine is a bug and not weird game design - I have an eligible car for the Daily (although I'd prefer if it was like DR1 and you didn't need to own the car) but it won't let me enter because that car 'is in use somewhere else' - seems to be that unless I complete or abandon my 36 stage championship I'm unable to use that car for a single daily challenge run?

Otherwise, apart from the very irritating Racenet issues, very little in the way of bugs to report from my Day 1.

For those mentioning the 2000cc class cars being in game, I thought the same thing about their times but I think this just proves that although the artwork may be done, the physics and the AI certainly haven't been upgraded for them yet!

Hi,
the "UPGRADED" achievement/trophy
(Fully research and apply the maximum engine upgrade to 5 cars) is glitched on Xbox One and PS4.
On trueachievements.com no one have unlocked it for Xbox One:

On psnprofiles.com no one have unlocked it for PS4:

@ChristinaMc
Can you please fix it in the next patch??

That happened to me,  so I bought another instance of the Escort to do the daily.

There is an achievement "Adaptable": I tried it many times with custom events or in the carreer mode. I was definitely driving on all conditions more than 10 times for now. I am stuck at 75% so one condition is not counting for me. Please help me with. Thank you!

Steering wheel synching issue

Calibrate your wheel in the menu using the full 900 degrees of your G29. Press the X button to confirm. O back takes you back without the calibration values!!!

In the input options set the Soft lock to ON. This should give you resistance in your G29 when you reach full lock in the car. The rally cars in game do not have 900 but somewhere around 540 degrees.

Next is the saturation option for you steering. If you set it to 100 then the game should use the 900 degrees and with the soft lock option it should stop at the car's steering lock.

Unfortunately, it depends on the car you choose. For some cars it works, for others you will feel that saturation = 100 makes the car feel floaty, you have to steer too much to get the car to turn.
Solution: set the saturation to 60 (60% 0f 900 degrees = 540 degrees). This results in you physical steering wheel making the exact motion as the on screen wheel.

It can also go wrong the other way around. If you have set saturation = 60 and you find your car being too twitch to drive and the wheel on screen turns faster than your physical wheel the the solution is to set the saturation back to 100 again. his results in you physical steering wheel making the exact motion as the on screen wheel.

This solves the problem. But it you have to do it every time you get into a car. In Dirt Rally 1 this was done automagically.

A quick update. @ChristinaMc in case these reports have gone in, I would like to say that there was a random problem with my computer and it was behaving abnormaly (not just in DR2.0). I did a quick system repair and made some windows updates and all the problems went away. The game didn't freeze anymore for the few hours that I played, and there was not a single crash in between stages.

The only problem that continued was RaceNet instability, making challenges a bit frustrating with random DNFs. However, I noticed on FB that you guys are compensating the hassle with 1 million credits, so once again, kudos to you. Safe to say there were no game updates in between these events, so the absence of these crashes was not due to a game update (im not sure if steam is still running a version behind the consoles). Thank you 🙂

No Dualshock 4 vibration on PC

DS4 is correctly recognised on PC, but there's no vibration at all. Vibration is set to 100% in-game and it's also enabled in Steam Big Picture mode's settings.

When using the "DS4Windows" software to make the game think it's an X360 controller, vibration works. Still would be nice if it worked without 3rd party software.

The Dualshock 4 controller is not a supported device on PC.

Not sure if you would count this as a bug but there doesn't seem to be an option to adjust field of view on Xbox. The game is zoomed out, which makes it impossible to judge speed and distance on small screens.

Xbox and PS4 do not have the field of view options.

The tacho has been mentioned before, pretty sure this is period correct for the Group A car.

I think the description might be wrong: I'm pretty sure the NR4 car has a "H" pattern gearbox in real life.
