Sector 3 Time Warp

Recommended Posts

@ChrisGrovesMCM

I've observed multiple times the opponent or myself jump ahead 2+ seconds at the Sector 3 transitions, Spring and Qualification races.

Follow are some examples.  In all cases I was right foot down, no traffic:

I just noticed the Sector 3 times are close to the sum of first two sector times?

Is this by design to make it a close finish?

with the better balance, this is happening more frequently, effectively lost over 500 resource points this morning  Here's two more where I also had a new best laptime.

Very obvious at Spa where in qualifying I am far ahead of opponent and at maximum speed on the long last straight and somehow I am beaten in the third sector by over 3 seconds. If he had that much speed through the rest of the race I should have lost.

It even happened on races with new personal records.

I did reallly well with a new setup today so missed out on over 500 resource points, that's racing 😉

Just finished logging this one with the team - as mentioned in another thread, the cause of the opponent's S3 time sometimes appearing as too fast is because their recorded time ends when you cross the start/finish line. It's now logged and being investigated. If and when there's more news on this, I'll pass it on 🙂

Thanks @ChrisGrovesMCM - much appreciated !

Another Sector 3 onservation, I ?think? I have observed opponents (?AI?) rapidly (within a couple of seconds) close the gap near the Sector 3 transition and rocket by.

You think you have a safe lead and then it suddenly evaporates so maybe the software is trying to make the finish exciting.

Maybe it is data lag on my end.

Don't know if others have experienced.
