Season 2 DLC Cars

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what your predictions are for the cars that will be released in Season 2 DLC?

These are the cars which have featured in DiRT Rally and DiRT 4 so what do you think the likelihood of the returning is? Also there are only 5 so any predictions on the most likely new addition/additions? Let me know down below.

Hyundai i20 R5

Peugeot 306 Maxi

Seat Ibiza Kitcar

Ford Focus RS WRC 2001

Lancia 037

Also the following were included in DiRT Rally however due to WRC licensing issues I'm not sure they will be able to include these;

Volkswagen Polo R WRC

Hyundai i20 WRC

Ford Fiesta RS WRC

Mini Countryman WRC

(I personally would definitely expect the 5 in bold except the Hyundai i20 R5 to return in season 2 DLC.)

We already know that Group B rallycross is coming in season 2 and the 2001 Impreza WRC has been confirmed at some point, so I am guessing:

Modern Rally 2000cc:

2001 Subaru Impreza S7 WRC
2001 Ford Focus RS

Group B (Rallycross):

Ford RS200 Evolution
MG Metro 6R4

Supercars (Rallycross):

Mini Cooper S
Citroen DS3*

* The absence of kit cars thus far maybe suggested an issue with Seat licensing, if I am mistaken about that though (and there are no problems with Seat), then I think the Ibiza is more likely. I hope it's the DS3 though as that was my favourite car to drive in previous games!

I think that is a pretty decent prediction. Would love for the Peugeot 206 WRC to be released into the Modern Rally category with the Ford Focus RS 2001.

What do you reckon the likelihood of that is?

Also where did you hear about Group B rallycross?

Well Peugeot have licensed other cars, so I don't think it's completely unfeasible. I (along with others on the forum) would really like to see a split 2000cc class, so having the 2001 Impreza and Focus joined by a 206 would really help that!

Group B rallycross was confirmed a while ago (virtually all of the car news/rumours has appeared in the Confirmed Car thread) in this Codemasters blog:

http://blog.codemasters.com/community/01/dirt-rally2-worldrx/

Check out the penultimate paragraph:

"Further World Rallycross circuits and vehicles will arrive post-launch via DiRT Rally 2.0’s seasonal content, including the introduction of the Group B Rallycross class."

Given the focus of DLC1 on rally it seems reasonable to assume that DLC2 will be rallycross based. Oliver Bennett tweeted a while ago that his MINI Cooper would be coming to the game "in the summer" and, given that the MINI, was at CM HQ for the launch of DR2.0 a few days ago I think it's reasonable to assume that the MINI might be part of DLC2.

Ah cool, seems like a pretty good chance then.

Also I agree a wider spread 2000cc class would be great. You could have like 1999-2002 and 2003-2007.

1999-2002

2001 Ford Focus WRC

2001 Subaru Impreza WRC

1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 (Move across from Group A)

2000 Seat Cordoba WRC

2001 Hyundai Accent WRC

2001 Skoda Octavia WRC

2001 Peugeot 206 WRC

1999 Toyota Corolla WRC (This might be tricky)

2003-2007

2003 Citroen Xsara WRC

2004 Peugeot 307 WRC

2007 Ford Focus WRC

2005 Skoda Fabia WRC

2007 Citroen C4 WRC

2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 WRC

(Ones in bold already confirmed)

Anything involving Toyota has been a no for some time. It's never been stated why, but Toyota haven't licensed cars to Codemasters for many years.

Equally it seems like Hyundai might be an issue now as well: the i20 R5 is conspicuous by it's absence in DR2.0 and the GRX Hyundai is missing from the Supercar line up.

Yeah that was my thinking.

But hopefully Skoda seem to be happy to license so we may get the Octavia, but it has always confused me why the 206 hasn't been included since CM Rally 2005, as there have always been at least 3 or 4 other Peugeot's licensed in each DiRT game. (306 Maxi, 207 S1600, 208 R2, R5, WRX, 205 T16, GTi, even 307 WRC in DiRT 1).

Would really love to see the Accent, Xsara and 206 back! Really amazing cars

Guys i believe that game needs 2017 wrc cars!fiesta,i20 and yaris

Those are the cars that I think everyone wants: as long as the WRC license is elsewhere, I doubt it will be possible for Codemasters to get the very latest cars...

...no harming in hoping though!

Hi everyone i'm new to this site but i was thinking what cars i'd like to see in future dirt rally franchise. Well since Colin Mcrae started the dirt franchise off it seems a shame that a version of the 1993 Subaru Legacy hasn't been in any of the games. Anyway here is a list of cars i'd like to see.

Citroen BX 4TC Group B. 1986

Rover SD1 Vitesse. 1983

Vauxhall Nova. 1992

Triumph TR7 V8. 1978

Triumph Dolomite Sprint. 1976

Renault Gordini. 1964

Lotus Talbot Sunbeam. 1981

Skoda 130 RS. 1975

Skoda 130 RS Group B. 1985

Vauxhall Astra GTE mk2. 1988

Lotus Cortina. 1964

Mitsubishi Gallant Group A. 1990

Subaru Legacy. 1993

Vauxhall Chevette HSR. 1980

It'll be entirely RX cars, unfortunately. I like RX, but I just think the game is more in need of Rally content because that seems to be what most people play and location variety is more important in rally.

anyways, if I'm picking RX cars, I'd like to see:

Hyundai i20 as free bonus for everyone. (though it seems unlikely as someone pointed out above, which is really sad.)

then for Season 2:

4x Group B RX cars

Mini RX

My personal wishlist:

  • Gr. A Ford Sierra Cosworth 4WD
  • Gr. A Subaru Legacy
  • Gr. A Audi Coupè S2
  • Gr. A Mazda 323
  • 80s FWD Fiat Ritmo Abarth
  • 80s FWD Opel Kadett
  • 80s FWD Ford Fiesta
  • 80s FWD Ford Escort XR3
  • H1 Volvo Amazon
  • H3 Vauxhall Chevette
  • H3 Lancia Beta Montecarlo
  • H3 Lancia 037 (i think it's planned this release)
  • H2 Alfa Romeo GTV6
  • 2000WRC Skoda Octavia
  • 80s FWD cup (new category) Autobianchi A112 (i assure you, it's daaaamn funny to drive)

Well, you've guessed it: mostly not so famous rally cars. Maybe an entire DLC season could be dedicated to those early Gr.A cars.

I wish all the cars what we've got in DR, Dirt 4 and the Ford Sierra Cosworth (AWD)

@ChristinaMc seems like most people don’t care for RX content, it shows here and across many other threads, hopefully the rumours for season 2 content being RX just stay as rumours, unless you plan to do a season 3 as well, it’s called Dirt Rally not RallyX after all, though I’m unsure if you or the rest of the team are even reading your tags lol

We're reading them! We're reading everything. I can't comment on the content of future seasons just yet, but there is RX and Rally content still to come.

Thank you for the reply, could you give us a rough idea on when this Audi daily trophy/achievement will be fixed please? Or if it’s in the progress of being fixed, also the career AI at Elite and Masters difficulty? Haven’t been able to play career since the first week of launch, unbeatable AI, I’ve stuck to only daily’s etc for credits and car upgrades unfortunately, if I knew these are being addressed for the next patch I’d rest easier

Hi @ChristinaMc, I know you can't give much away, but is there any consideration for any more late 90's / early 00's WRC (Rally) cars. Also a question that has baffled me for a while now, why has the Peugeot 206 WRC been left out of the past 5 or 6 games, considering the number of other Peugeot cars in the previous games?

If you really read "everything" then how about some more communicating with your customers?
