WRC 8 Livestream

Was looking forward to seeing this stream when I heard on the Team VVV youtube channel that it would be showing today. I wouldnt go as far to call it a simcade title until it is released, as they might surprise us with the physics this time and it could be a lot more realistic given the extra time spent in developement and the trend of improvments in this area seen in the previous game.

Looks good so far:

* Stages look very detailed like in DR 2 and I like how the big hay bale arrow marker moved when one of the drivers hit it. Also lots of       grass like in DR 2.0, really looks good.

* Sound effects seem good too.

* Lighting was attractive and colours were realistic

* Force feedback seemed to be working well judging by the wheel footage of the drivers and what the first driver said about being able to feel all the stones and road vibrations in the feedback is also very positive to hear especially since so many people are comlaining about this being a problem with DR 2.0

* Love how they actually got multiple good drivers (esport champs etc) to test it and give feedback.

* Feedback from the first driver about impròved tarmac physics was promising and also what he said about the gravel stages allowing much better ability to get back end out and also hold it through the corner on throttle, which is what people are praising DR 2.0 for, so this sounds very promising. He also mentioned how this makes linking corners together much better than before.

* Historical fwd and rwd cars is really a great thing to hear they are adding. And group B cars too.

* Replay cameras are improved to give proper track side replays.

* They are using a different co-driver voice and improving pacenote system (that robot guy in WRC 7 sounded really bad and he acknowledged this)

* They are including a testing area perhaps like Dirt Fish rally in DR4

* Dynamic weather on the Argentina stage was impressive and realistic, seems like an interesting feature to spice up the stages a bit as the driver was saying he felt 3 different levels of grip as the rain began to fall and then get heavier. This sounds really cool.

* 100 stages across 14 countries!

I really hope they include some 90s classics like the 95 subaru and Mitsubishi Lancer as these are my favourite cars in Dirt Rally and I love the way they handle the most. So if the physics are good, and you will be able to race these classic beauties in 14 different countries in a full season it will be fantastic. Especially as this game usually incldes super special stages too!

the 100 stages is probably still just 1 or 2 long stages per country, chopped up and ran in different directions, with the spectator stages thrown in.

Still good! but nothing to get over excited about. I'll still be picking it up as I've enjoyed the last 2 games, and this one looks like an improvement again.

In regards to the volume of content, the way I see it is: 2 long stages x 14 locations (with super specials on top of that) is a lot more than DR 1 and 2.0 were offering and even with the 2 of them combined (asuming all DR 1 stages are ported over as DLC) thats still 2 locations less than the WRC game offers. So to me, having always felt so starved by the Dirt series, it seems pretty exciting to have all that extra content and variety (in comparrison to Dirt games) being offered in the base WRC game.

Doubt I’ll be getting it. Can’t stand poor audio in a game and the Hyundai sounded awful.

Plus it’s the official WRC game. Why can’t they model the actual real stages instead of making them up?!

You dont see ACC modelling fictitious circuits and then calling it the official game of Blancpain.

No metter what most say negative about game, I like the improvments over WRC7, i like how they did wind effect with shaking trees and bushes, and flying leaves in Camera direction, but the best part was Dynamic wheater.. and info of getting Classic Cars, for me its win win situation, i like DR 2.0 and hope we get more support, like season 3 and 4 , with one more game like WRC 8, as rally fan what could i wish more!?

Not by a long shot. Just in terms of content quantity in stages perhaps. But i don't want to have plenty of ficticious stages, I'd rather have just a few real.

You understand the Codies stages aren't real, right? They have some sections based on real locations, but the rest is fictional...

Stages, graphics and climatology...so much better than Dirt Rally 2.0. 14 countries, 100 tracks...omg.

We weel see the physics... (WRC7 totally "Cr AP").

"Dynamic weather on the Argentina stage was impressive and realistic"

it reminded me DriveClub

Really? I did not realise this, it always seemed to me that they were spoken of and marketed as real stages especially since they actually fly people to tje locations to take heaps of photos etc. Is this the same case for the DR 1 stages?

The gravel stages they showed looked rather low speed it will be interesting to see the highspeed stages they.

Cars looked very pointy like in Dirt rally 1. I wonder if i put them up side by side with fresh eyes if i'd be able to tell the difference..

I’ll be getting it for sure. It’s improved with each version and this update looks a big one. I love DR2 with a passion but career is a bit empty at times for me which WRC games do better. Interested to see how their dynamic weather is. Hoping with their license we’ll see the Corolla WRC are Celica which Dirt games haven’t had for awhile

Just realised from watching the video again that the guy did mention specifically some of the historic cars that will be in the game:

* Lancia Fulvia

* Lancia Delta Integrali

* Ford Escort MK II

* Renault Alpine A110

*  & Group B cars

and then he said there will be more as well that he cannot mention now.

I'll be getting it without a doubt. It's improved with every rendition and this refresh looks a major one. I adore DR2 with an enthusiasm yet profession is somewhat unfilled now and again for me which WRC diversions improve. Intrigued to perceive how their dynamic climate is. Trusting with their permit we'll see the Corolla WRC are Celica which Dirt amusements haven't had for a spellBluestacks Lucky Patcher Kodi

I would say it's the other way around. Some sections are fictional but the majority of the stages matches the real life stages they are based upon.

The only stage that hasn't been pinpointed by the community is the New England one.

I'm honestly starting to believe it's actually UK based stages transplanted into NE. I don't know the EU rallies well enough to have a strong guess as to which ones immediately, but I don't think it'd be too far fetched to think Codies may have gone this route. Europe has a wide variety of landscapes and I know there are more than enough locations that resemble New England enough that with some smart graphic designers you could replicate NE scenery around a UK based stage.

I only say this because I've spent way too many hours on rally-maps.com trying to pin point these stages with absolutely no luck :classic_laugh: At this point I might try to harass Urgaffel again to get me those loading screen stills of every stage for wallpapers (and to try and reverse search the NE stages =P)
