Hoping this is just the PC patch notes.

And hoping dearly the console update will also get console-specific requests, eg FOV slider, bloom reduction (or slider), PS4 graphics requests, etc.

Edit: Oh dear. The patch is also out for consoles. No separate patch notes. Not a great sign, for now.

The cockpit view brightness adjustment is a bonus, but how it affects overall lighting remains to be seen. There's also no mention of improved weather cycles in career.

Server-side, we’ve also tuned frequency of night stages and bad weather stages. We know a lot of you were reporting that the occurrence of dark/wet stages was a little too frequent, so we’ve done some tweaking to ensure a few more dry and day stages.

I just started playing a little budget Xbox game called 'Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles'. A Zelda-like third-person adventure/rpg lite.

It has a bloom effect slider in its graphics options.

Just sayin'

Hi all,

Please note I’ve removed a few posts that broke the forum rules. We understand when people are angry and you’re allowed to let us know when you are and what the problem is, however, you can’t be rude when posting. There’s also some swearing in this thread that I’ll be getting rid of as well as swearing also breaks the forum rules.

Thanks.

Ive just played the game, Cockpit view is MUCH DARKER!

The main thing is that brightness levels are the same throughout all cameras. It's kind of a lose / lose scenario really because now that camera levels have been standardized, tricky shadow darkness has simply been replaced by that weird hazy effect. Clear day sunshine and pitch black night racing are near-flawless (night racing is crystal clear and ultra well defined) but as soon as those clouds appear something goes horribly pear shaped with the lighting (4K/HDR)

On reflection, with concerns regarding FFB, visual quality and always online Racenet (the three most discussed) not addressed this is actually a really, really poor update that just seems to be a bunch of token fixes added into 10gb of preloaded DLC.

With the high probability of another long wait til the next patch and the thought of continuing to play the game 'as is' i'm actually starting to regret buying DR2. The enthusiasm has pretty much gone now.

I think they were aiming to squash bugs in this update, more than anything. I reckon the next few patches are going to show a lot more of the improvements we're all hoping for.

Come back in a month's time, it's not actually that long a period of time... 🙂

Supposedly the frequency of night stages was reduced, but testing out a few championships in career mode, I actually had MORE night stages. Before it went through the same progressions... day/sunset/dusk/night. But now what I'm seeing is that instead of the same progression, it sometimes skips one of those. For example, I just had one where it skipped two sunset stages in a row, with the result being that I had day/dusk/night, day/dusk/night, day/sunset/dusk/night... so actually MORE night stages. The next rally was exactly the same old day/sunset/dusk/night progression through every stage, no different from what it was before. If the solution was to keep the same progression but sometimes skip a time of day, then that didn't work. There's only a one in four chance that the time of day skipped will be the night stage, with the result being that there's more damn night stages... exactly the opposite of what people wanted. I will say though that the weather appears to be slightly better. One of the Argentina rallies was actually completely dry for all 10 stages, which is a miracle.

I'm here because I'm invested in the game.

You created a thread saying you've had a refund and gone off an bought WRC7 and waiting for 8 then telling us all we're pathetic.

You haven't been away from the board since, I smell a rat!
