DiRT Rally 2.0 - V1.2 - found a bug? Post it here!

Recommended Posts

A bug I've noticed. Don't know if anybody reported it yet, but here goes:

When you scroll in the leaderboards, you can never get far from your own time in the list. Say you're 200th and you scroll up by holding the "up" arrow on the D-pad (I'm on Xbox, by the way). You'll never get much farther than 150th or so and you won't be able to reach the top. Same if you scroll down. Even "Go to Top" does not seem to work most of the time.

Yeah, I've also seen this. It happens when you check the leaderboard right after you finish a stage and you're still in the event. After you finish or quit the event and return to the main menu the leaderboard will work fine you can scroll up and down the entire list.

Grip bug just happened to me again:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Bq1nWqrwHW6WJ8BZxLbZZHmp6wXoF7Uz

Until now, it never happened while doing carrer in Escort, but ruined me 3 weeklys already. All the weeklys were with AWD cars, idk if it's connected. Honestly do something codies, becouse I rather regreat buying this thing now. And if you're not able to fix this, make some workaround, idk, allow restarting online event stages within first 5 seconds or something.

I think it should be also possible to fix you car between events even if some part has "not damaged" status yet, but is already worn. It will prevent heavy repairs mid event, when it wears more and more and finally becomes worn mid event.

That Subaru has some damage. Mis-aligned wheels, broken springs and dampers could induce shopping cart handling. Did bad handling or no grip happen to you with an un-damaged car?

For me handling went bad only after accidents. Grip decreases a bit sometimes but it was because of tire wear.

I wouldnt have a restart option in online events. What would be the difference between time trial and online challenges? Now online events are the most realistic rally experiences in the game. Everyone has one try, just like in real life. You cannot choose the weather. You can't order your favourite road condition. Adding restart option to online challenges would stop them being a challenge. 🙂

Yeah, happened once with un-damaged car. Also didn't happened with escort after some light crashes. I intentionally have written "in 1st 5 seconds'. It's enough to notice that bug is present, and not enough to screw your run and use it then. Or idk, just if they do something like auto-restart just to fix this. I actually never checked if restart fixes the bug, becouse it only happened to me in online events, but as people say it does work, then better do some solution based on this, than keeping people not able to run events 😉

Hi,

I've done several tests and I found that the bad fps cause even the older steering wheels with ffb functions.

Can you please write what exactly are you using steering wheel? Then we can continue in quest drop in fps, thank you. Pet

Im running an old Asus GTX 770 2GB and the despite the crowd eating some FPS, the difference isn't massive. I use them on low and if I turn them off I stay the same. I run the game on Medium settings. But again, I locked my V-Sync to 60fps (no point running higher than that imo) and I have an overall smooth experience.

I use a Fanatec CSW 2.5, but i really doubt it has something to do with the wheel, as Nvidia has acknowledged and reproduced the problem, and it doesnt happen on AMD Cards.

40 days after the launch and there is still no FFB fix, this is getting difficult, I still enjoy the game, but I am seriously concerned that the fix never arrives

I posted a reaction to that, saying politely that @ChristinaMc is not doing well the job of community manager (silence is not a job), and suggesting a kind of strike of the unhappy customers, meaning not to play on Racenet till CM answers us about the multiple issues of this expensive game, and my post was just... deleted ! *** !

Steering wheel Fanatec CSW 2.5 is fine. I had a Microsoft wheel force feedback and reduced my speed to a value of 40 fps regardless of the set details.

Now I have a T300 and a constant 60 fps on Ultra settings. You can show a short video where's the place where drops frame rate?

Every other race (non repair races) whether the car is damaged or not, it feels like there is no wheels on the back of my car. There is a bunch of racket and the car wont steer unless you just toss it into a corner and power slide. This isn't a damage issue, it happens even after a near perfect race, car is undriveable. It doesn't seem to affect FWD cars just the 4WD cars I have tried. Restarting the race seems to fix it.

@ChristinaMc Can you publish plans about perfomance patches? New drivers out, time go, but many players still can't even start game.

Massiv BUG in Rally Cross AI times!

I always was suspicious of the AI times in Rally Cross. Too often did I win all 4 quali races (with all the cars racing with you in all of the 4 races driving incredibly stupid and slow) and did not even make it into the top 12. And once you do get to the final race, all of the cars having had fantastic quali times, suddenly drive super stupid and slow again.

But now I have video proof that something is terrible wrong with the timings in Rally Cross: AI cars IN THE SAME QUALI RACE finished on P1 in the race results, when actually I was finishing in P1.

See this replay:

https://youtu.be/ka5lie29njs

Russo starts on P1 to the right of me and for some reasons his car does not move at all from the start line. I pass all the other cars, finish P1 and find Russo being listed on P1 on the race results with a 6 seconds faster time!

So now I am 100% certain that there is a massive bug with the AI timings in the Rally Cross races!

Small bug I noted as well:
Even when you do not start a stage at all - you give up right away before the start - the car receives damage!

- I also still experience Racenet connection issues now and then.
- as well as sound stopping mid stage now and then.
- and of course there is the still big non existing road texture/water/surface FBB issue.. : (

And some design decisions I cannot understand:
- simulating a hand break as a button instead of an analog axes.
- gearboxes not changing according to the car.
missing possibility to exchange car setups

Bottom line - sadly this feels much more like a badly tested game, instead of a rally simulation.

On the R2 Ford Fiesta most of the liveries have too wide (or actually too high) black bar on top of windshield, which make the car almost impossible to drive. The liveries 1 and 2 are ok, rest are not.

A solution would be to remove the black bar, make it transparent or make it smaller on the affected liveries.

The informations from a steering wheel are made by force feedback and vibrations.
There is no vibration at all in this game.
The problem is not force feedback, but that vibrations are not working.
Why?
Will you not implement vibration function on DiRT Rally 2.0 in the future?

As we've mentioned elsewhere, this is something we're looking into currently. We know there's been a lot of feedback about FFB, and it's with our handling team for investigation.

Other things we're currently working on:

- The grip issue off the start line
- Game 'blurriness'
- Fixing audio cut outs (something we thought we'd fixed but then saw re-occur, so we're really sorry that's been the case)
- Game crash issues
- Windscreen wiper duplication
- Other misc fixes

And of course, our RaceNet team are working on Clubs and competitive multiplayer.

Any chance you guys can throw in some shorter sprint stages in the dailies? It's exclusively the long stages now. Would be nice to mix things up a bit.

You came and communicated with us, thanks

I had few days with Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2.
Those games are great and their FFB is very informative, like DiRT 1 is also pretty good, you should try and compare.

Yesterday came back to DiRT 2.0 and yes, it´s awesome game but you really should solve those things ASAP.
After we have sharp graphics also with consoles (Xbox One & PS4) and FFB which give you information about your road texture and grip then we praise game to heaven and you will get millions £´s :classic_happy:

Thanks @ChristinaMc for this info.

But why is it that you only gave this info as a reply to some people asking stuff? And only after the heat rose up again in the forums?

Why can't you just give this info UNSOLICITED, as part of your job as a community manager?

And why only buried deep down page 15 of some other thread? (actually what does info about 1.3 have to do in a thread about 1.2?)

Is this how you understand/interpret your job as a community manager or is this what you have been told to?

Is it sooo difficult/asked toooo much to just have a sticky thread about the next patch which you update EVERY TWO DAYS? Is that really too much?

Just letting you know, I've encountered the "Audio cut out" bug on 1.2. Only happened once. Running a Logitech Z906 in 5.1 from onboard Realtek TOSLINK.

Hey. Already added the first one, but will update it with the correct achievement name.

Adding the second one as well, despite being fixed.
