The Patch - Graphics are WORSE - PS4 Pro

Recommended Posts

Sorry to divert this discussion slightly but I was hoping someone could tell me if this is a bug or if I have overlooked something...

I can't progress to update 6 on the pug 208 R5 ecu. I have unlocked it but I cannot seem to buy it- it doesn't even show me the cost of the upgrade either. Is this a bug or is there another criteria other than distance driven that I need to factor in?

Anyone heard of this before?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

i thought they listened to the feedback since launch? so why no visuals fix, why no FFB fix (still being worked on even though it looks like it is as intended), why 10g patch, this is huge with no or little improvements, patch notes very disappointing.

If they had listened then these items would be the first on list.

Why are you still here?

Its perfectly acceptable for a consumer to complain about this game.

This isn't Codemasters first rodeo gents.

Anyone is entitled to moan about this just like anyone is entitled to enjoy this game.

The fact of the matter is the fact that this game should have been delayed, tested, tweaked and then released. Or put into early access and improved via the public.

Again, this isnt a new thing. Pretty much every game comes out with issues day one and we know that "eventually" it will be fixed.

Honestly as a consumer we shouldn't pre order, we shouldn't buy in to the marketing hype or BS. Its our fault that developers make "deluxe" editions or "play early" editions, because we are the ******* idiots that buy into it.

Again, this isnt the first racing game that Codemasters have made, one would assume that this should have been a solid release. Its fair to say its been pretty rocky to be honest.

The only thing you can do is vote with your wallets.

I got a refund after 17 hours, im glad i did. Yeah I'll buy this again but not for a good few months when everything is sorted...

The game is perfectly playable for me, I'm not seeing what others are or at least it's not effecting my enjoyment.

I wasn't happy about the complete randomness of the day/weather (But got used to it) so happy to see it tweaked and yes it's a bit dark in certain sections (I'm not sure if this is realistic or not) but it's not a big issue for me.

To be fair, I'm loving the game. If it gets continual improvement all the better.

I understand that this is my impression and fully acknowledge that others are having bigger issues such as sound drop outs etc It's just that I've not experienced these.

I've changed to bonnet cam because of the blurry graphics, it looks a hell of a lot clearer than dash cam for some reason.

We badly need the dashcam from DR back.

Why not?

DR2

DR1

DR2 dashcam is severely hampered with sun strips. It's like driving looking through a letterbox, Half the screen is just black.

I agree that adding DR1’s dashboard camera would be good – it’s better suited to the way a lot of people have their wheels and screens set up.

DR2’s dashboard camera seems designed to give you a clear view of the dashboard instruments, whereas DR1’s gives you a clear view of the road.

You dont need to zoom the DR1 image to prove your point though.

Well, I prefer DR2 dashcam because I find it more immersive with the view of the instruments, rather than DR1's digital HUD, like in the screenshot above. Guess you just can't make everyone happy, people like different things.

Sure you can make everyone happy: just add the DR1 camera as an option.

Thats why you dont get rid of a great camera from the previous game.

I think you can achieve that view in head-cam/cockpit mode, by moving the seat position fully forward, in some cars are least.

And it certainly would help to have a FOV adjustment on the consoles, as this really changes the view as well. Lower FOV gives a clearer, bigger view of the actual road in front of you.

Ironically, in some cars you can move the seat so far forward it is past the new 'dashcam' view (how you put a camera on the dash and still see the gauges is pretty magical) and much closer to the old actual dashcam view in DR1. I use that quite a lot - but the range of seat positions is different in every car and totally inconsistent.

Can we move the seat forward on consoles?

I've been told only 3% of the players used the dashcam in previous titles.

I agree with you though, I'd love it back as it was my go to camera.

Yes you certainly can. How much varies with the car. Check your button bindings in settings.

It would be interesting to see the full breakdown of views by percentage.  All I know is “I am the 3.0%” 🏆

Remember back in 2011-2012 Codemasters took Cockpit views out of their games because they said no one used them? Sure it was less than 5% of people they reckoned.

Just mapped the seat forward/backwards to several different buttons (made sure didnt have same mapped eslewhere) and the seat would not move in either direction. Also plugged in my USB keyboard for more buttons and it doesnt seem to recognise that either.

What im i doing wrong.

You need to use "head cam" to adjust seat. If you are in dash cam it won't work.

I can’t play this game anymore. I don’t like to complain but I have a eye condition and my favorite game was Dirt Rally. I was looking forward to Dirt Rally 2.0 and it was very sas to seen that the graphics were blurry..... The rain effect even makes it worse. I’m not a graphics freak and Dirt Rally 1.0 looked pretty good. I like to Watch replays to see how i did!  The replays on 2.0 are very blurry too. It can’t understand why a developer like Codemasters made the PS4 Pro version so bad. The handling is really really good, it is a shame that I can’t play it......
