Cars grip after patch?

Try to understand ūüėĄ

I am trying, that is why I say it has to be something in the settings getting reset. There are plenty of fast drivers on these forums and in the Discord who are PS4 drivers, almost all of them seem to confirm that nothing changed with the handling. The only logical explanation I can come up with is that your settings have somehow changed from what you've come to expect. Maybe it's tuning settings, maybe it's input settings (maybe things are over calibrated now? ie - 150% brake pressure) or maybe it could be something as simple as your FoV being changed causing you to perceive everything differently. But overall, unless your patch someone got glitched out in a way that only affected handling but didn't break the build, the physics have not changed.

Had register to forum just because of that!

I bought game because it¬īs more simulator than arcade, now after newest patch is fully arcade.
A lot more grip and gravity!

That¬īs not even mentioned at patch notes, why!

Played game over 100 hours, yesterday I almost loved it, now I hate it¬†ūü§¨

Something strange was at todays Poland Daily Challenge with 2000cc or maby it was just between my ears :classic_blink:
Played about 20 stages after that and everything feels same like before :classic_huh:

Yes I noticed same arcade feeling just after the patch, but when played more stages came to conclusion that it was just a temporary mental disorder ūü§Ē

Maybe you were so excited for the patch that you had a mild stroke.

No one is saying you are the only one noticing this, but the vast majority of players on any platform agree that nothing has changed.

So if 99 people say the sky is blue, and 1 person says the sky is pink, it is a fairly safe assumption the sky is blue...

In this forum, maybe, but others have noticed.

There are too many codemaster fanboys here

I hope you aren't referencing me, I totally objectively reviewed data for the R2 class to investigate.  If it showed a difference I'd be the first one to say it.

No, I don't mean you.

Your answer is proper, nice to hear what you think about the handling on gravel.

PC user here. Big handling difference for the worse for me too.

More responsive on the straight but really noticeably worse at big slip angles in the S4 and mk2 so far. The LSD doesnt seem to lock and drive the car forward when it should, you try to hold it in opposite lock and give it full beans it just spins out now with the front being too unresponsive. I hate it!

I'm pol.hope and at or close to the top of the leaderboards for my fav NZ stages in Grp B (S4) and H2 (mk2) so I'm not just your average player and I'm definately not imagining it.  Something has changed. What have they done?

Look at my post history, I'm anything but a Codemasters fanboy. The handling feels exactly the same.

My theory- They messed with soft lock so I'm thinking that in trying to fix it they have screwed up my steering linearity settings, more sensitive near the centre and less sensitive the closer you go to full lock.

This might also explain why not everyone is feeling it, different wheels?

G25 user here..

The more I play, my opinion gets stronger all the time, something is done for handling or physics.

I wonder why Codemaster didn't tell about it in the upgrade list?

This is also noted in reddit.

the more I read this thread, the more I think you got better and didn't notice or are just trying to kick codemasters because you're unhappy with the product.

your posts consist of claims that it is different, claims that "other people" are having the same issue (you have not even linked to that reddit thread!), and asking why codemasters didn't put it in the upgrade list, as if this is something which is affecting all users, which it obviously is not.

you have produced zero evidence supporting your claims. have your times gotten any better? do you have video you can compare to other users? there are dozens of us here who aren't having the same experience as you.

I'm tired of this.

produce some video footage for us to compare or shut up.

It is the feel of driving, not seen in videos. I just said that the reddit site has also noticed it.

So I'm not the only one.

I didn't notice anything to be different. Not with mk2 Escort, R5 Skoda or 2000cc C4. And yes I did test all those in Poland. (PS4)

You're quite literally the only person reporting this, and in actuality, you're only reporting a feeling.  Do you not smell what you're peddling here?

As others have said, you're going to have to post something to corroborate your "feelings" such as times, videos, *anything*!!!

Oh, and stop dragging the rest of us into this!  If *you're* having a problem, you state *that!* - do not start saying the whole game has changed and it's arcade and why wasn't it in the patch notes and everyone is having the problem.

You know none of this, you can only state what you know, and that is that you think something has changed on your game.

I also felt difference on ps4 with the pad. I use to drive with default settings. Try to set steering sensitivity 45 (others default). For me this feels almost exactly the same as before.

I think now even steering sensitivity 50 is turning the wheel too fast, making turning easier and feeling "arcade"(try 100 it is super "arcade"). So now 45 is good for "rally feeling" even though it might be slower. For t150 wheel I didn't notice any difference.

OP still hasn't specified if he plays on controller or wheel. Maybe the settings for controller have changed?

Did the OP actually report his issue in the appropriate thread? You know, the place where sometimes devs answer questions and take notice of issues people might have in order to address them.

Now I played bit more with ps4 controller and I have agree with the OP. Something has been done to controller handling. Is it more grip or some handling aid or is it to make it easier for new players,  I don't know.

You can notice this easily with Group B cars, they now feel tamed down, brutality and danger is gone, you can just cruise around. Also weight of the cars is almost gone, braking is much easier and faster.

I put up a post on this the other day saying that I couldn't feel the difference after the patch and even went as far as to say that I think the diff's had been tweaked. But last night, playing on career, I mopped the floor with the Master AI. Considering that I had been hanging around 7th, usually around 10+ seconds off the fastest time, I now suspect that I was wrong and something has changed. Most notably the braking. as you now mention, has become sharper...

I am thoroughly confused as whatever tweaks there may have been are very subtle and hard to detect but there is a difference. I am almost certain of it.
