I saw a thread like this on Reddit and now that 2.0 has been out for a while, I figured it'd be a cool thing to see what you guys here considered the best Rally location out of both games.

Here's my list ranked best to worst:

• Pikes Peak, USA
• Powys, Wales (Classic)
• Ribadelles, Spain (Amazing roads, especially in Rally GT cars)
• Jämsä, Finland (Jumps jumps jumps!)
• New England, USA (Mostly because of the scenery)
• Monte Carlo, Monaco
• Baumholder, Germany
• Catamarca Province, Argentina (Has grown on me)
• Argolis, Greece
• Monaro, Australia
• Hawkes Bay, New Zealand (Has done the opposite of grown on me)
• Värmland, Sweden (Magnetic snow banks)
• Łęczna County, Poland (Too Fast, Too Furious)

Pikes Peak isn't strictly Rally I know, but it's just so good that it has to be my number one.

11. Spain, hate the twistiness and unforgiveness of the stages, can't send the car sideways without losing it, much differently to the akin surfaced german rally in Baumholder

 

12. Varmland, I dislike snow in dirt 1,  unlike most rally games. Narrow roads and too many snow banks that love to send the car on the moon

Damn that's tough, I'll try:

1. Germany, sending the car sideways like a madman and going fast af boiiiii in the Panzerplatte military field? Yes

2. Monte Carlo, great scenery and a sensation of progression from asphalt to snow or reversed that is uncomparable to anything else in any other rally

3. New England, great visuals, like a lot the sense of speed and details

4. Greece

5. Wales

6. Poland

7. Australia

8. New Zealand

9. Argentina

10. Finland

(Opinion there might vary in the next weeks, haven't been playing dr2.0 that much till now)

1. Finland (by a long shot)

2. Wales (spectacular)

3. New Zealand (growing on me, gorgeous visuals and love the texture of the gravel)

4. Greece (love the challenge, it gives zero 4uks about margin of error)

5. USA (sweeping power slides, feels so good to slide for 50M!)

6. Spain (rewards technical excellence, playing with sequential shifter = workout, lol)

7. Germany (handbrake fun!)

8. Sweden (challenging but exciting, all about throttle management!)

9. Argentina (will be amazing once FFB is fixed, enjoying more as time goes on)

10. Monte Carlo (fun depending on my mood, though dislike icy parts)

11. Poland (meh, ok...feels too narrow and a little boring visually)

12. Australia (trash)

Austrailia only gets a 12 cause that is all there is. If we had 50 locations, it would be number 50. Maybe it’s the way DR2.0 rendered it - but it absolutely sucks balls. Horrible, unforgiving, unexciting and awful. Would rather watch Kangaroos graze in the forest than drive that garbage location.

1. Wales (there is something magical about British rally stages. It's the essence of rallying for me)

2. Poland (really intense and beautiful, but I might be a little biased here- I'm Polish and actually live 30 km from Łęczna County. 😄 )

3. Spain (it's just an awesome feeling when you get the car setup right and get into the rhythm there)

4. Australia (those treacherous narrow roads with drops on one side...)

5. Sweden (love to drive in a white fluff!)

6. Monaco (really interesting grip variations)

7. Finland (crazy speeds and jumps)

8. New Zealand (nice and flowing, very relaxing)

9. Argentina (requires maximum concentration all the time)

10. New England (stages are a bit boring, but the "autumny" environment is sweet)

11. Germany (interesting and varied stages, but the floaty tarmac feeling in DR1 somewhat ruined it for me)

12. Greece (very scary and frustrating at times)

 

Actually, I love them all, so it was a very difficult ranking to make. ;]

EDIT: Montecarlo is awesome in DR2. The snow/ice physics are gorgeous. Cant wait for Sweden

Best to worst.  I have to rank each Monte Carlo separately, it was my least favorite in DR1, but the remaster jumped up the ranks for the updated handling model.  Most of the top locations are nearly tied.
