Car Status Information

Recommended Posts

Hi,

maybe this question was already discussed somewhere, but couldn't find any thread on this.

I'm new on Codemasters F1 games and started playing F1 2014 on PS, which is my first F1 game.

Can anybody please explain what all the Symbols etc. at the "Car Status Information" mean?

Or is there generally a detailed manual somewhere available? I've just found a short guide which explains controls (e.g. how to display car status information), but this manual is where short and let's many open questions for me as a "F1-game-beginner".

Thanks

  1. Temperatures (blue tab)
On this tab, you will be able to see the current temperature of the car's components. These include engine, brakes and tyre temperatures. Colors reflect the ideal level of heat: green means the component's temperature is ideal, red means overheating and light blue means that the components are under cooled.

Please be aware that if the temperatures are not optimal, you will struggle for performance.

  2. Car issues and tyre wear (red tab)
This tab will show issues. Damaged parts of the car, for example will show up in red. You can also review the amount of tyre wear here. Grey means your tyres are new. As your tyres start to wear, the colors will show grey >  brown > orange > red.

  3. General Information (green tab)
    This tab shows general information.
1/2. Fuel reserves. Green means you have plenty of fuel left and can afford to use more.
Yellow means your fuel reserves are optimal, meaning that you can get to the finish line with the current reserves. Red means that you are low on fuel and that you will have to reduce power (switching to Mix 1) in order to make it to the finish line.
    3. Scheduled pit stop. Here you can see at which lap you are expected to enter the pit lane in order to make your pit stop. If you continue driving after you were supposed to enter, the tab will show how many laps you continued driving.
    4. This tab shows the estimated position you will rejoin the track after making your pit stop.
Hope this helps, good luck and have fun!
