The No grip issue has been an issue for many people around these forums and made the game rather unplayable,

The Audio cut outs where a major inconvenience as well thats been pointed out often. 

Pacenotes are a core mechanic, fixing of that isnt "Little cosmetics".

Car Sounds are a huge factor in immersion.

Haven’t tried it out yet but can see there is no mention of a fix or more worryingly Codemasters haven’t ever acknowledged the fact that hdr needs fixing, it has no real settings and the game is way too dark in certain areas!

Had none of those issues. 
Don´t understand that someones here are overoptimistic unless they are working for Codemasters. 
There is still big bugs (like FFB lack which is one of the most important things with racing games, and dark areas specially with HDR which your headlights don´t light etc) and no word when those are going to be fixed or maby never.

a) those aren't things they are actually putting a lot of time into, they don't take time away from updates you want b) in addition, the person who does liveries doesn't work on FFB or whatever anyways. same goes for audio

agree with the rest of your post though, more transparency would be nice.

How about adding the option of manual h pattern with clutch and sequential like we had in DR!! I’m no game developer but surely this would be quite a simple thing to do.

Is there a plan to allow us to play private races/championships in the multiplayer without AI drivers? I actually want to be able to race against my friends

-- PATCH v1.3 Bug List --

Based on v1.3's changelog and taking note of the fixes it brings, here's the updated bug list reported in the v1.2 thread, which represents all the bugs that still need fixing

1. The problem with dark stages and no visibility has been poorly resolved and now the cockpit of the car is completely dark and some stages over-exposed. HDR needs to be fixed for good, no matter how much time it takes. Headlights also have nearly no effect in dark zones (such as New Zealand forests, Australia forests and Monte Carlo's tunnel). Happens specially in Sunset/Dusk times. There are also cases where brightness goes totally dark in the surface and after exiting the forest area it comes back to its right brightness value.

3. Tyre wear is too forgiving at the moment, making any choice besides Soft and Wet nonsense. Tyre wear, at least on softs, needs to be improved so that it wears way faster than it currently does, so that Medium and Hard compounds are a viable choice whenever there are bigger stages. And if possible, make it so that tyre wear rates also depend on how you drive (if you push harder, higher speed and higher sliding will cause the tyres to wear faster). 7. After a stage when you're in the service then go to the main menu and back again in the service, the tyres you used lose their used condition and just display as "New".

9. Running order seems to be class dependent. Example: Group A will never start 1st on the running order regardless if they lead the entire rally, and not just the class, making the running order and track degradation a bit shady. There's also the issue where the championship leader will start cleaning the first stage of the event (correct), except if you are on another class other than R5, but then if you lead the rally once again you don't get the best order position for the best grip. Not sure how you're gonna do it, but something needs to be done about this, as older classes get 90% of the time rutted stages. Working as intended.

10. Splash VFX and SFX are missing when passing through a splash (New England stages). Fixed in patch v1.2.1 - v1.3.

12. There are more reports of stuttering since v1.2, which didn't exist before. 21. Despite the 7th rally being added to the game (Monte Carlo), championships only have 6 events. Should get adjusted as locations get added. NOTE: Needs confirmation.

23. Wipers remain automatic even after being disabled in the settings. Wipers in auto-mode, sometimes (but rarely) will stop working during the stage even if it's raining.

25. In Monte Carlo rally, when you go to the service area after you finish a stage, the ground floor is black like if it was missing a texture (i'll make sure to get a screenshot on this one soon, it happened to me on a GTX 770 with the latest nvidia driver) NOTE: Needs confirmation.

26. When overwriting a setup it resets its name instead of keeping the old name. Fixed in patch v1.3.

32. If you don't take spare tyres and have a puncture in a stage, the tyre will still get repaired on the next one. Happening in Custom Multiplayer Events. This used to work before, at least in My Team, before v1.2. Should this be restricted to My Team mode only, it needs to be implement in Custom Events as well.

34. On custom events stage results, the penalty time does not account for the service penalty time (when applied) and therefore will give misleading stage times. Example: Player 1 had a service penalty time, but his stage time shows as if he didn't get a penalty at all. Basically there's no track of this penalty and there's no certainty to the other players in the session wether this penalty has been applied or not. Bug confirmed yesterday while playing with some friends.

35. "Tune Vehicle" option in service area not appearing in My Team Online Events unless returning to service area from main menu.

36. Sound cutting bug is still present.

38. The portuguese translation or "Clear" weather is wrong, it should say "Céu Limpo" or simply "Limpo" and not "Limpar". "Limpar" is used as "to clean", and "limpo" alone makes no sense because that's just not how we use the verbs, we say it's "clear" like "sky clear", which doesnt make sense in english but that's the way it is in PT-PT and PT-BR. 40. When selecting recommended repairs in a service area, components out of view stay on 'no fix' unless you scroll down to view and reselect recommended repairs.

43. Whenever you pause the game or start a new stage, if you're using dashcam (and maybe if you define different cockpit positions), the game will reset the camera to cockpit. Those who drive in the default cockpit already don't experience this issue, and this only happens with External Cameras setting turned off. NOTE: This bug came on the Sweden 4.5GB pre-load patch on Thursday, April 18 (Steam)

I will be updating the list as some of the bugs get confirmation and as any new ones arise.

Comparing to the previous list, there were 47 items in the list and we're now down to 38, with the possibility of this number to go even further down if any of the bugs needing confirmation are ironed out (watch out for stroked lines). Overall this reveals a pretty good job in this patch, considering the timeframe and the severity of the bugs that were fixed. There were also a couple of bugs added to this list, that weren't present in v1.2's list yet, although they existed.

If any of the remaining bugs, specially the ones with the red note, happen to you in v1.3 please post here. It would also be nice if anyone would help with some of these bugs confirmations.

Point 9 on the list seems normal to me. In a rally R5 cars run first to prevent one that had problems to run between to slow cars.

Yeah that's how it is in real life, although unfair for My Team singleplayer career. I'll remove that one from the list.

PC user here.

I can confirm I have experienced frustration with #1, #7, #27.

#24 I found I could manually turn wipers on and cycle the setting but found no way of turning them back off again without switching back to auto setting.

#3 I figured they might introduce some events with more stages between stages to justify longer wearing tyres? But otherwise agree the way it stands there's no reason to choose medium or hard compounds.

Could you please add a new item: After a stage when you're in the service area there's no tuning menu option. But then go to the main menu and back again in the service, the tuning menu appears (similar to inducing #7)

Also not a bug but missing menu option for game preferences to have 'manual h-pattern with clutch, and sequential' as was in DR1 so the game preference settings don't have to be adjusted between cars.

Now the game stutters, and before this update it never stuttered. I was playing at a consistent and smooth framerate before this update.

Thanks! The tuning option the service area is working in custom events. Maybe that tuning unavailability is happening on Career only? Eitherway, it's bugged because if it was meant to be restricted it shouldn't give the option back after going to the main menu.

Installed 1.3 patch, loaded a stage, drove for 20 seconds and crashed into a tree on purpose

so I could get to Replay, STUTTER and SOUND BUG still present. Took me 2 minutes to confirm



Codemasters, you are no masters anymore...

7 weeks, and still no RETIRE option?

7 weeks, and still I have a damn mouse pointer popping upon my screen while driving?

7 weeks, and game is still not remembering Window size when CTRL+Enter and back. This makes it very tedious for recording.

CTRL+Enter also throws the mouse pointer on screen 😛

Yes sorry I meant to clarify. Just seems to be online events (weekly/monthly challenges). I need to confirm for v1.3 though.

@ianism I sense that I’ve failed to make my point (yet again).

I’m all in favor of new content;

I don’t know (or pretend to know) jack about game developing;

I’m fairly sure that Codemasters knows how to properly allocate their resources,

But, being in a situation where I cannot play the game due to an issue (blurriness in PS4) that was overlooked before its release and, almost two months after, has received nothing more than a “we’re looking into it”, I resent seeing all this new content being released for a game I’m unable to enjoy.

From where I’m standing it feels more like I’m being mocked after having been cheated into buying an unplayable game.

This may sound harsh to all those that, despite some bugs, have been able to enjoy the game, but unlike many others that have plainly left this forum and probably the game altogether, I’m still around rooting (in my own special way) for Codies to fix the darn thing!

frankly I wasn't responding to any of this, I was responding to you implying that the devs considered liveries to be more important than actual meaningful changes and fixes.

it's fairly clear the game should've been delayed in order to fix all this stuff in advance. it would have done better, both in reviews and financially, and that's the fault of the people who make those decisions.

and same, I very want them to make this the best game rally game ever: it feels like it's close but at the same time so far! I've been playing a fair bit, (I'm on PC so graphically it's great and I don't use a wheel so FFB is a non-issue) but have been limiting my playtime because there just aren't enough unique roads per rally location, and there aren't enough times of day unless you play the historic championships for some reason.

The simple answer is that we overhauled the entire input system in the mean time.  It works a lot better than it used to, both in the parts that you see and in the under the hood parts we use.

Can you just say that you'll be adding a 'realistic/authentic' option for transmission.
