Are there people willing to share their cars settings?

Hi everyone,

I love DR 2 but I really don't know how to set up the cars.

I found this guy with his youtube channel GTR Technical: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ05BZF9F6q2xKyV6viCBGg

Without his help I couldn't play the game, as I was always 15 seconds behind the leader, now thanks to him I can play with the cars settings he put on his channel.

But unfortunately for me he didn't do it for all the cars (very grateful for the cars he did though), so I can't play with the cars he hasn't put on his channel.

Can anyone please share his settings for beginners like me?

What cars do you need settings for?

for me the biggest problem it's with rwd like 131 abarth, now i find a setup for gravel very stable, and now i play monte on career and try one setup, but i think it's best solution, make one setup every surface, for every class of veichle ( 4wd r5, 2000, rwd 80, rwd 70 ecc) not for every cars,for exaple: i think if one setup it's good for 131, it's ok also for escort.maybe all user need change a bit a single parameter, but the setup base it's good, on this method all user can use a stable setup and it's simply make a custom setup...

I agree with Skyline. There's a military saying that applies here. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. (Obviously the slow bit isn't ideal but the smooth is fast applies).

I've just started fiddling with the settings to see what happens.  Change one thing at a time and see how you go.  

At the moment I'm focusing on stability in straight quicker sections as that is where I struggle the most.  So pointing the toe in a bit and seeing how it fairs.

One day I might build up the courage to start messing with the diff.  I feel as though there is some sort of black magic going on in there.  I'm no fool when it comes to physics and mechanics, I've just never really tried to understand at that level before.  So I'll get there.  

Just have to enjoy the journey and let this part of the game be acknowledged as a significant part of the game.

Thanks for the link, It's very technical and I guess we need a lot of tries before finding adequate settings. Also the author mentioned that the guide is for DR 1 and he might do another one for DR 2 but it will take him months... I remember 20 years ago I loved playing Colin McRae and I learned how to set up the cars by myself, but to be honest with you, now I'm busy with my business and I'd rather just open the game and enjoy it without spending days in finding good settings.

Well, to be honest with you also, in that case you don't really need personalised setups as the default ones are perfectly fine for some fun. You are grossly exaggerating the difference between them by saying that default is unplayable. I could understand you wanting to have the best setups if you were a very competitive player and fighting for top positions in online events, but if you are just enjoying the game itself then there really is no need to have top notch setups for every car and every location. Not to mention that setups, to some extent, are a matter of personal preference rather than pure performance gains.

Practice, practice, practice. and you dont have to practice 24/7. I have a fammily and a full time job. I also have another hobby wich takes up most of my free time in the spring, summer and autumn. 2 months ago I struggeled allot with DR2. Now i can the drive the defaults settings without issues(unless its group B awd for some reason) so i guess practice ore just keep playing the game will give you some skills over time. Give up and say its unplayable will not make you any better. I dont have time to learn how the tuning works, but i dont need to either. I even play with controller on xbox.. lol

I was sure with viewing how many players are willing to share their settings that I will have some comment like yours. I posted on Reddit a way I've found to greatly improved my headphones, the factory settings were ok, but with the settings I've found they become great, and I'm really happy if I could help other users to have a better experience and enjoy more their headphones. I've helped some owners, and they were all very thankful, I'm glad I could do that. That's one of the greatest use of internet: share what you think could be useful to others. If I follow your way of thinking, then I should just think: Yeah I found great settings, but the stock headphones works fine, you're not an audiophile right, so why should I share the easily ways of improvement I've found, cause the factory setting works fine.

Anyway I'm not here to argue with anyone, even to comment like only competitive players would need top notch settings. 

Which by the way GTR Technical has shared his, and I think he really knows what he's doing viewing all the very precise set ups he's doing to the cars. And if you read the comments on his post here in this community, then you will see that players are very thankful to him, and most of the comments are from beginners like me who can enjoy the game much more.

So thank you for your comment, I will stick with my way of thinking that if I could help anyone by sharing what I've learned in life and improve their experience in anything, then I'm really happy to do it!

While I love it the way it is, here's a little tweak that makes it much easier to drive if you're struggling with its extreme oversteer:

Differential => 40%, 40%, 80Nm.
