F1 2018 runs very slowly without doing some simple steps

Question

I dont know why, but for me F1 2018 (ONLY f1 2018) runs veeeery slowly without doing this:

1. Open the game
2. Go to task manager and select the game there
3. Right click > details
4. Right click "F1_2018.exe"
5. Set priority > "high"
6. Set affinity > Uncheck "All processors" and then check it again.

without doing this, my game runs at 5-10 fps on any settings & any resolution and loads track up for around ~3-4 minutes

why?

pc specs:

pentium g4400

8gb ddr4

gt 1030

f1 2017 runs perfectly without this steps and f1 2018 runs for 40 fps on medium settings in full hd

G4400 does not meet minimum spec and neither does GT1030; I struggled with a G2020 on the 1st gen game (F1 2012 - although I was using iGPU graphics, for about 10 minutes)

You will need an i3-6XXX (i5-6XXX recommended) and GTXX40 (GTX(X)X60 recommended) Make sure the game is detecting the hardware in hardware_settings_config.xml

8GB of RAM is OK and I'd also recommend an SSD.

1) my cpu and gpu doesnt meet specs for f1 2017 either but I dont have that problems with f1 2017

mystery?

2) Im running f1 2018 after this stesp with ~40-50 fps on medium in full hd as I already said

3) I do have ssd and it doesnt matter if the game is on ssd or not, this problem happens every time

The F1 2018 game may use some features that are only available with newer CPUs and graphics cards. This is of course just me guessing.

You're right, it does. Performance will be affected if your setup does not have it. For F1 2019 the game looks like it will predominantly be DX12 (ported to W7 and W7 support ending during the game's lifecycle) and DX11 will be "compatibility mode". Also the game uses Denuvo anti-cheat software (which claims not to affect performance, but it does).

It's no mystery. If you are outside the minimum specs, you are on borrowed time and you cannot expect the game to work as well as with a recommended specification you are lucky if it performs as well as with a minimum specification (which you are failing to meet!)

I have suggested the CPUs you should look at and SSDs really do improve the all round performance of a system for peanuts compared to the rest of the spend.
