The Tyre Thread

Sorry, it was my error. I'm not a native speaker. By burnouts I meant accelerating from a standstill and spinning up the tires. I realised that it's not the same only after reading your comment. Donuts will be fine too.

By saying that "AWD cars in this game have way too much grip" I meant that they, overall, have more grip than AWD cars do in reality. It's also true, to some extent, with most of the other classes, but with AWD cars the difference seems to me to be the biggest.

Okies, no worries. Saying that they have "way too much grip" is a bit of a stretch in my opinion, but there will obviously be different opinions on that.

did you notice a different wear with the patch 1.4 (PS4)?

In Australia, with RGT, 3 courses with soft tire, 5km in the rain, 6km dry and in the 3rd of 7km dry, I felt that the tires were screwed, the indication in the service park confirmed to me.
it was already like that or there was an improvement?

I also have the impression that tyre wear has increased. That second run never would have "worn" the tyres before:

soft, Spain, 4.58+7.00+14.34km, 4WD2000cc Impreza: worn
soft, Spain, 10.75+6.55km, 4WD2000cc Impreza: worn

EDIT: and another run with worn tyres

soft, Australia, 12.50+6.89, R2 Opel: worn

They need to put things in the notes. These ghost changes are screwing with our heads!

That's great news! Now imagine when clubs arrive and we can run 4-5 stages in a row without a service stop, so I can finally try out the hard compound. 🙂

We can already do that through custom lobbies though.

Has anyone checked whether AI times have been adjusted accordingly? If they weren't, it will be incredibly hard to beat them now.

Edit: so I did a couple of stages in my masters championship and it seems like the tyre wear was either not changed at all or increased very slightly. Softs lasted for 2 stages easily, showing as "used", and were worn out only after a combination of two long stages of 18 kms in total, which also happened before the update.
