Race setup VS Time trial setup

Recommended Posts

Having done a lot of research on this topic, I have realised the time trial setups I have saved are not as fast on multiplayer because the physics are alot different apparently, correct?

Time trial setups (mercedes) seem to work in career mode for me on nearly any car but not online. The car is always too twitchy and my tyres go way too fast.

What are the most important parts of the car to tweak, for a race?

Old thread, but the setups in this game confuse me compared to AC, PCars etc and would like to know this also.

What kind of multiplayer are you playing and what cars are you using? If all cars are equal on multiplayer, not sure what car the features are based on..

I'd say you want to run a different suspension setup for a long race to help with tire wear.

I was in your same position @PureDriving. From what I noticed from using TT set-ups is tire temp. The tire temp in Time Trails is always at 212f, 100c. In multiplayer and in career the tire temps move up and down. In other words, Time Trail is arcade mode, multiplayer and career aren't. I've been working on set-ups in multiplayer lobbies and it's turning out for the best.

I play with med TC, there are some corners which i tend to spin in races but not in time trial. Two specific examples are the twelfth corner in Bahrain and the sixth in Brasil called Ferradura. I had not noticed that i am prone to spin in those corners in time trial or ranked lobbies but in 50% online league races these corners seem like hell to me. In F1 2018 i would lower my car's ballast but in F1 2019 i do not know what to do so as to be able to take these corners flat out or at least without the risk of spinning. Do you have any suggestions fellow racers?

Not a chance in hell you’ll be able to take Ferradura flat.

What I do (no TC) is turn in early, shift down gently from 7th to 5th and let it roll. Easy on the throttle and almost immediately shortshift back up to 6th as you’re about to exit the corner.

Just don’t take too wide a line through there and you should be fine.

Here’s a link from my qualifying run in career.
