I just read their blog - this is hella good news, yes!! 🙂

Agreed that FOV would be nice as well, but I will take the dash cam for now as this should inherently improve FOV regardless of whether or not it is adjustable.

It moves the seat forward so you will see more out of the windscreen. But it won't supplant a FoV slider as that allows a level of zoom adjustment which is badly needed for many of us, and the dash-cam won't solve.

But it's a good sign that they are listening...

Gotcha. Well, in the absence of FOV adjustability - I have become accustomed to the current standard...so the addition of a true dash cam will be much better than the current options. And true that - they are listening which is a great sign indeed.

On a side note - I hope the dash cam will retain the camera shake slider. Playing the game with the slider all the way up makes locations like Argentina a lot more enjoyable. Anything ‘fixed’ without that adjustability becomes very jarring, hard to see the road ahead at times while bouncing around without any form of motion compensation.

I'd suggest taking it even further. VR mode has a 'lock to horizon' option, and it'd be nice if pushing the Shake slider all the way to the right effectively replicated that option.

Yes, these type of camera options, FoV, lock-to-apex, etc, make a simulator so much better that they are nowadays becoming standard.

I think it will never be fixed or equal like in Dirt Rally

1.9's got some cool stuff and fixes in it though. not as beefy as 1.8 but there's some notable things in there. We're still refining the notes.

I was just wondering if you guys had run intro trouble with the owner of the car. Maybe he could have backed off and not allow you to record anymore, which is why it's taking its time.
