Codemasters literally can't win with you guys can they?

They release a game focusing on Single Player and Career and then everybody who plays Multiplayer gets angry saying that they don't care about Multiplayer players.

They release a game focusing on Multiplayer and then everybody who plays just Single Player gets angry and says they only care about Multiplayer players and they don't care about Career mode.

If you don’t think so, and career is indeed all you play, don’t buy the game. That sucks of course, but my point is that they DID make achange to career.

Just cancelled my preorder so i can get some more impressions from the career mode (i dont play online) before i make the choice to get this game. If the bit of F2 story is the only thing new i might as well skip this year of wait till it is discounted

Agreed it's why I prefer the 2017 career mode so for me my favourite career mode is probably 2017's because at least in that game if you want t orace for one of the big teams you have t oproduce the results capable of impressing them.

The 2 rivals from f2 will graduate into f1 with you after those short scenarios, and remain there throughout your career, with the ability to switch teams and a rivalry story throughout. The core (R&D etc) of the career mode hasn’t changed from last year. I actually like it since I mostly liked career last year and the ‘story’ part doesn’t seem to be to overbearing, but enough of a change to keep it interesting for me.

In my opinion 2015 has the best graphics I'm not saying the others look bad but to me the newer ones look like a doewngrade compared with 2015 but I still prefer the newer ones because they have career mode 2015 didn't

Yeah I like the idea of the story mode but I'm not sure if it's something I'd be willing to  pay full price for it and the addition of F2 though.  I want to finish careers I have on the go on the older ones first which again is why I'm thinking I'll wait till later if I get it at all. Gives me time to finish up other stuff and pick the game up cheaper

Indeed makes you think that people should think about what they're asking for and how it will impact the game before they ask it. I agree that F2  wasn't a bad idea but the official HUD I feel certainly was as I have to admit I don't like it. It works OK for TV but for me it's not suitable for a video game. Although tbh I'm not too fond of the TV version either but considering I don't really watch F1 anymore because it's not on free to air TV it's not my problem anymore

I play a long time F1 games. This is the first time I cancel the pre order. No real difference in career mode. Except for f2 in it. So in 2 season you almost max the car performance and game is done...

Does someone know about the pitstops? Is that the same too? Everybody going to the pit for changing tires on the same time?

I had high hopes for 2 years developing this game.. now I will wait for the release and the comments in the forum. Too bad

I personally don't care about the general structure of the career. I was more interested if they did something to R&D or the reputation system. R&D was so easy that you could out-develop the other teams even when you were on par with the racing AI. I would like that to be changed for this year. The R&D content itself can't be exactly the same as last year by the way due to the new aero regulations. I also would like the racing AI to be better than last year. They drove too robotic and too clean. Also, I would like the interviews to be more realistic. Sometimes I picked an answer and it did have the opposite effect on R&D morale of what I wanted to happen.

It's possible they might have done as I heard somewhere but don't remember where that the classic car events can influence your reputation as well even if they don't count towards the championship. I quite liked the idea in F1 2017 where the events could influence your R&D though by helping boost your R&D points

I thought F1 2018 was the best game released to date, and while I don't remember the updates all being massive - they were all positive over previous titles and introduced some interesting (almost) RPG elements to the car development. I would have loved to see those elements expanded to it being more of a "team" RPG rather than just the car (i.e. don't negotiate your contract for simultaneous development, but link points earned to cash the following year and divide that across the team's departments - being 1st driver they might give more weight to your opinion on where development should go, etc.), but in an F1 Manager-lite kind of way, maybe even with the opportunity to set this to automatic if you purely want to drive (in the same way FIFA has always allowed you to manage or play, and up until about 2012 you could do both).

It's unfortunate from that perspective, in my opinion, we appear to not get even a single advancement to things that make me crave that "just one more race" feeling from 2018 in 2019. I appreciate the addition of F2, but again from those live streams it doesn't look ready to be implemented if it has no bearing on the future F1 career.

for them to make a game that focus's on multiplayer... they'd have to fix the bug infested mess that is multiplayer.

Couldn't agree more! People are so spoilt by everything in life that they expect the game to be tailored to their every wish.

Career mode on 2018 was great and they've built upon it for 2019 without making any radical changes to the core. You're not tied to having the fictional F2 guys with you so I'm glad Codies have left that an option rather than something you have to get used to. I'm disappointed that you can't play a full season (or two or three) in F2 before making the jump but maybe that'll be in 2020.

I'm not a league racer but they've overhauled that system and I might be tempted to try out a league now, as well as set up my friends' 'online championship' in there. Hopefully the online will have slightly fewer server issues but we'll see in time. The customisation is better than we've seen before - not even remotely on a level with MotoGP this year but still a nice addition.

Overall, the graphics look stunning (I even like the HUD and wish it was even closer to the broadcast package) and people who have played the game are happier with a more aggressive AI, as I'm sure I will be.

The saddest thing is that young program and whole F2 joke havent any effect on F1 contract (yes ok you have maybe little bit better value WOW) but i think most of us expected something else.
