Importing profiles

Recommended Posts

I think it would be really beneficial if you could make it so that people could buy your new game and import their profile.

Think about it... I'm really enjoying F1 2018 and in my 3rd season. This is the furthest I've ever been into one of your games (because it's a stellar game...so well done). I'm enjoying it so much that I don't want to give up on my progressing career.

So this will be the first year in ever that I will not be buying your new game.

If you had included the option to import a career from a previous game, I'd have no qualms buying the new game.

Is that something your thinking about for the future?

I doubt they would do it to be honest because even in games where they do use such a system like in the Mass Effect trilogy and Dragon Age series for example and FIFA's the journey it doesn't always work that reliably and EA have got lots of people working on those sorts of games so the chances of CM being able to figure it out are pretty remote. Besides you don't have to give up on it just keep playin that game until you're finished if you're enjoying it that much I still enjoy playing career modes on the older games from time to time because I get a lot of enjoyment but I don't expect to import to the new ones and neither do I want to.

I'm not giving up on their games. I simply don't want to buy the new game and start a fresh career.

On the other hand, of course I'd like to have new liveries and driver rosters etc.

If they were to introduce such a system, I'd be able to buy the new game AND continue my career.

Win for me and a win for them with another sale

Again how would that look? They have a license for 2019, so I’m pretty sure they can’t put Sirotkin or Hartley in for example. So they either have to extend the 2018 license or they have to replace teams/drivers in a career that moves from 2018 to 2019. Whilst technically possible, this is probably not what you want?

Also nothing prevents you from playing two games. I recently started a career in f12015 again so...

Yeah I still play careers on the early games too like F1 2010 11 and 12 because I enjoy racing on the tracks in those games like Korea Valencia Istanbul and Nürburgring for example though I admit I prefer Hockenheim over the Nürburgring I still enjoy racing the older tracks so there's no shame to sticking to the earlier games if that's what you want to play.

Well, at the end of my 2018 season, I'd buy the new game and load my profile into the game. It would load me into the team in in, replacing whatever driver is on that seat in 2019. That's it. I don't think there's anything particularly hard about it.

The 2019 game can have all the drivers, cars, liveries, performance as they are in 2019.

If your 2018 car was doing really well in the 2018 game and is not so good in the 2019 game (eg I finish in the 2018 season with allot of enhancements to the car and I'm performing mid field but the 2019 season **** me to the back half) then it's due to terrible winter development.

I really think it would be simpler than you think.

Having said all that...why don't I just buy the 2019 game and jump in the same car? 🤪

Haha, yeah that was kinda the point. Also this only works if you only drive 1 season, not when you’re 5 seasons in.

So I guess have fun in your F1 2019 career next week 😉

Yeah you can just jump into any car at the start of career anyway so no need to worry.

Well, it would've been nice for the career importer to bring forward your team position (first or second driver), and your rep with other teams, because with a new career that is all going to reset.

So it's a bit more than just starting with the same team. And I still think it would be fairly easy to implement

As it stands, if I start the F1 2019 game, I can select my team, but my rep with other teams will be reset and my rep with my team will be reset as well as with my team mate.

So I still think there's a valid reason for the request...which is all it was at the end of the day... It really didn't need analysis 😁
