Some explanation on R&D Objectives

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Maybe its just me that are stupid. But I don´t understand how I can complete a objective I have on my practice.

Under the objectives on right side it stand "R&D Objectives" and that I need to using the new engine parts on the ERS.

Can someone describe it for my?

i'm guessing that you need to just do a few laps using your ERS

I will try that! Thanks for reply!

From my experience these are the objectives for new car upgrades,

Engine/ERS - Reach a high speed

Tyre Wear - Set a lap with low tyre wear ( Can be as slow as you like)

Weight Reduction/Redistrubution / Brakes - Set a competitive lap time

Front/Rear downforce - Set a competitive lap time

DRS - Use DRS to reach a high speed.

I might be talking absolute waffle but I hope this helps.

So is this objective in practice before or after the part has been completed & fitted? If before does it affect whether the part completes or fails (i.e. fail objective in practice = part failing or greater possibility of it failing; pass objective in practice = part completes with no issues)? Or is this just another way of getting more R&D points if passing the objective after the part has already been completed and fitted?

It's after the upgrades arrive, its basically a small way of confirming the improved performance. When you get a power unit upgrade fitted, you'll get the objective 'top speed' for simply going full throttle down the straight to earn some bonus points.
