Is it possible to get a good starts on experienced settings with assisted starts?

Recommended Posts

Same question as the title. Is it possible to get a good starts on experienced settings with assisted starts? In that case, how? I’ve tried holding and releasing the clutch. Not sure if its needed on assisted starts? Tried different rpm:s, between 8000 to 12000 without luck? Tried changing quickly to 2:nd gear. Nothing works. Five to ten cars just rush past me before I reach the first turn.

I’ve mentioned this in another post mainly focused on AI difficulty without anyone commenting on it. This is why I created a separate post on this problem.

I would be extremly appreciative if someone could tell me what I’m doing wrong (besides playing with traction control and assisted starts... 😉).

The only way to get a great start is with the fully manual option. Except it needs a lot of practice which the game does not give you. You just have to go to TT and practice it a lot. If you drop the gas fully you WILL spin.. It's getting the initial revs right then changing up smoothly and quickly as a quick gear up will also spin you. Don't feel bad restarting the race over and over until you get a good start. I still haven't mastered it myself after 3 games and 7 seasons!

A tip is to just setup a grand prix with no assists or whatever you want to use in the race then go straight to race and just restart and restart over and over until you build up confidence. It is possible to get a jump on the ai when done right and it feels awesome when you do!

What works for me is shortshifting to second and then third on lean mix with low-medium ERS and then blasting it to full rich w/ hotlap ers after third gear...

Maybe there is another thing as many people have issues with this - in FIA regs it states ERS cannot activate before hitting the 100km/h mark but to be honest I did not check if the battery goes down on race starts. Will check today.
