Racing Line Explanation?

Recommended Posts

Hey, so in F1 2018 I never turned on the racing line but because F1 2019 is so vastly different I feel like I need to re-learn the tracks. Could somebody explain what the colours on the actual racing line means and is it an accurate representation of when to break and accelerate?

Basically, as you're looking down the track, the colour at each point shows you what would happen if you were doing your current speed at that point. Green = fine, orange = limit of grip, red = about to fly off the track.

It's usually not super accurate and will have you slowing down way sooner than you really need to, so it's better to learn your own braking points. Though this year I've heard some people complaining about the opposite (i.e. the line not turning red until too late), so who knows -- I don't have the game, so can't comment.
