Fanatec CSR wheel continuously stops responding during a race

Recommended Posts

I bought F1 2019 on PC and am using Fanatec CSR wheel with CSR Elite pedals. The issue I'm having is that the wheel randomly stops working in the middle of the race. Usually this happens in the middle of cornering, when I'm downshifting, braking and steering at the same time. The steering and throttle will just get locked to the position where they were and and FFB seems to resist turning the wheel. Pedals also become unresponsive. I have to restart the wheel every time it happens and after the game detects it again, it then works for a while. Basically this ruins online racing because this usually happens at least once during every race. Sometimes even multiple times.

It's almost as if the input device becomes overwhelmed when multiple steering, pedal and shifting inputs are applied at the same time, and it causes it to glitch out. I have the latest Fanatec driver installed (v261) and I have tested plugging the wheel to different USB ports, but it doesn't make any difference.

Anyone else suffer from the same issue or have any suggestions what I should try?

Did you check in the Game settings if Understeering is Off? Just a suggestion. I was triggered because it happens only in corners.

Maybe a connection from wheel to base what causes a sort of short circuit?

what you describe sounds more a hardware error than game...

I have it on, but haven't tried how it works if I turn it off. I will check. Thanks!

The CSR wheel is uniform and this is the model that I have. Only CSR Elite wheel has a detachable wheel from the base. Also I haven't experienced this issue on any other games.
