Thrustmaster TX base with F1 Wheel Calibration/Centering Issue

Recommended Posts

Good day,

As mentioned in the title, I am using a Thrustmaster TX base and F1 wheel with F1 2019.  I keep running into an issue where I notice that there is a large dead band in my steering and the center seems to be off.  Checking settings, I find that I am registering a value around -10 when I have the wheel centered.  I also notice that there is a dead zone in the steering when I turn the wheel around positions that would show as -10 if the center were correctly at 0.

The first time I had this issue, it went away on its own in between instances of running the game with a computer reboot performed.  I also performed a calibration of center on the wheel base during this time.  When the problem was not present, everything was working normally again.

This time, I am unable to make the issue go away performing the same actions as above a few times.  I have also performed various trials power cycling the TX base both in game and out of game to no success.  I tried deleting the hardwaresettings files and rerunning the game.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the F1 wheel as well as insured both it and the TX base are up to date firmware wise.  In the Thrustmaster settings, center and the full range of motion are being properly interpreted with no issues when the issue is ongoing.  I have no issues with the wheel in the other game I used to test, American Truck Simulator.

Is there a way to reliably reset the center within the F1 software, or are there any other ideas for what I can try?

I can provide any additional files upon request.

Thanks in advance for any of your time and help!

Turns out that I was able to resolve this by insuring that my wired Xbox 360 controller was not plugged in while playing F1.  Hope this may help anyone else having a similar problem.

Did you try this?

https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/kb/7539-en/

only... press the buttons to center INGAME! When you're in the settings. So reset the center then, so you can see if it's been reset in f1 itself. That should solve it
